What makes our original Foodapest Street Food Tour truly unique, is that the experience is the perfect blend of authentic Hungarian flavors, local storytelling, and intimate group vibes. Unlike standard food tours, we go beyond just eating: we connect you to the culture, history, and people behind each bite.
You’ll taste everything from iconic staples like goulash and chimney cake to lesser-known local favorites, all paired with carefully selected regional wines and spirits. Each stop is a mini cultural deep-dive, guided by locals who share not just food, but the stories and traditions that make Hungary’s cuisine so rich.
With a relaxed, small group setting, this isn’t just a tour, it’s a shared culinary journey where you leave full, inspired, and maybe even with a few new friends.

IMPORTANT: 11:30 start Food tour focuses on the Centrall Market itself, while the 5:00 PM start Food tour is more of a tipsy food tour with drink tasters, but no Market Walk
We can cater towards various dietary requirements, such as vegan or gluten free but please note that we won't be able to substitute some tasters
Important Note: We only serve alcoholic drinks for travelers 18 years old and above. Minor travelers below 18 years old will be served non-alcoholic drinks.
We are not able to accommodate coeliac disease, as we cannot fully guarantee a completely gluten-free environment due to cross-contamination risks.

4.00Esther was very personable and knowledgeable. More food and drinks included would have been better. Need to find a way to not let people “ double dip”- we didn’t eat a coupe, of items as one person was using his fork from his mouth directly then to take food from area portions so we were not ok with that .

4.00We enjoyed the food tour. Esther, our guide, was very nice and informative. The food at all of the stops was tasty, except for the last stop, a local taverna where. The food at the tavern was not good. They should consider a different location.

5.00Lucy was our guide and she did a wonderful job! The food (and drinks) just kept getting better and better as the evening went on. Make sure to save room for the desert! Not a long walk, but we were able to see and experience a lot.

5.00We had a wonderful tour with Emma. We ate a lot of great food and drank some traditional Hungarian wines and liquors. There was a good variety of food. Emma did a wonderful job explaining what we were eating while she kept the group moving from place to place. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about food while visiting Budapest.

5.00We'd recommend this tour to everyone. Lucy was fantastic, great quirky personality which really made the whole experience. If you wanted to try all of the main Hungarian dishes this is she experience for you. Make sure you go Hungry!

She did an amazing job of explaining what we were trying and why it is important to the people of Budapest. It was a fun and informative tour, and do yourself a favor and don’t eat anything before you go because you will eat so much that you’ll fill up.
