What makes our original Foodapest Street Food Tour truly unique, is that the experience is the perfect blend of authentic Hungarian flavors, local storytelling, and intimate group vibes. Unlike standard food tours, we go beyond just eating: we connect you to the culture, history, and people behind each bite.
You’ll taste everything from iconic staples like goulash and chimney cake to lesser-known local favorites, all paired with carefully selected regional wines and spirits. Each stop is a mini cultural deep-dive, guided by locals who share not just food, but the stories and traditions that make Hungary’s cuisine so rich.
With a relaxed, small group setting, this isn’t just a tour, it’s a shared culinary journey where you leave full, inspired, and maybe even with a few new friends.

IMPORTANT: 11:30 start Food tour focuses on the Centrall Market itself, while the 5:00 PM start Food tour is more of a tipsy food tour with drink tasters, but no Market Walk
We can cater towards various dietary requirements, such as vegan or gluten free but please note that we won't be able to substitute some tasters
Important Note: We only serve alcoholic drinks for travelers 18 years old and above. Minor travelers below 18 years old will be served non-alcoholic drinks.
We are not able to accommodate coeliac disease, as we cannot fully guarantee a completely gluten-free environment due to cross-contamination risks.

5.00Lucy was relaxed, confident and fun but very thorough & knowledgeable. We would have assumed that she had been doing food tours for years, but were surprised to learn that she is relatively new! She speaks English very well- even humor. She is great!

5.00We took this tour while visiting during a Viking River Cruise. Our visit was led by Birdie who made it a wonderful experience. Her passion for Budapest and for food made this a top experience on our two week trip. She was very accomodating to everyone in the group. The value of the excursion was good and we enjoyed every stop and each food item. Our tip would be to bring a water bottle for in between each stop. We would highly recommend this tour.

5.00Lucy was our guide on Monday for our food tour. She was delightful! She is new to the food tour and did an excellent job of sharing the market and local favorites. She spoke clearly and with great English. The foods varied from samples at the large market to local sausage, chimney cakes and a final meal of goulash and dessert. I have done other food tours and this one was a leader in delivering a great experience.

5.00We loved this trip. Kinga, our guide, was excellent. The food choices were good, especially the langos. Unfortunately the enteral Market was closed because it was a holiday but a substitution was made.

5.00Nikki was adorable, polite, classy and very informative. I would request her for my next trip to Budapest. The tour guide makes or breaks the experience and Nikki made it lots of fun for 10 great friends enjoying the trip of a lifetime
