Experience the thrill of seeing endangered mountain gorillas in the wild on this 3-day gorilla-tracking safari in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
In Bwindi, you will hike through the thick rainforest in search of the mountain gorillas. After finding the gorillas, you will spend up to one hour watching them eat, rest and play around before returning to the starting point.
Beyond the gorillas, you will enjoy Uganda’s culture and stunning landscape on this short safari.

This safari starts with our driver/guide picking you up from your residence/hotel in Kampala or Entebbe at 7:00 am. Your driver/guide will then drive you to Bwindi via Masaka and Mbarara towns (approx. 9hrs). You shall make a brief stopover at the famous Uganda Equator line for some snacks and photography. You will stop again in Mbarara for lunch before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. From Mbarara, you will drive to Bwindi and reach your accommodation during the evening hours. You will have time to explore the community and surroundings for a short while.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today is the big day! Prepare yourself for an encounter with the gentle giants; the rare mountain gorillas. For most people, this is the absolute highlight of their tour. You will go into the forest in groups of not more than 8 in search of mountain gorillas. En route, your guide will point out previous signs of gorilla activity such as dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots. Your trek will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes, and bamboo. Upon finding the gorillas, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them after which you will be led back to the starting point.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Today marks the last day of your 3-day gorilla tracking safari in Bwindi. We will drive the same route from Bwindi to Kampala, via Mbarara and Masaka (approx. 9hrs). Finally, you will reach Kampala in the evening and your driver will drop you off at your place of choice in either Kampala or Entebbe. This will mark the completion of your Gorilla Tracking safari.

Everything exceeded my hopes and dreams - from the scenic drive through Uganda’s lush countryside to the beat of African music, the beautiful and very comfortable accommodations, outstanding service, and delicious meals, all leading up to trekking through the forest to find the gorillas. An experience I’ll never forget! A special thanks to my driver and guide. Asharif, a very experienced and skilled driver who was knowledgeable, personable and very attentive to my needs - you made the long drive enjoyable! I would not have been able to complete the trek through the mud and difficult terrain had you not suggested I hire a porter. And for making a special trip to Entebbe from Kampala today with my certificate I had forgotten in the land-rover! Discovering a hat water bottle had been placed in my bed for the cool nights and having my boots cleaned of all the mud were special touches I especially appreciated - the hotel staff were exceptional! My waiter’s gentle smile will never be forgotten. Nor will my porter for ensuring I made it safely, not an easy task and the incredible efforts of the trackers to find our family of gorillas, the guards, and our outstanding guide who all made it possible! This is an experience not to be missed! I strongly recommend Primate World Safaris and Asharif and thank them for providing me with the experience of a lifetime!

5.00Wow where do I begin. What an experience!!! Geoffrey was the absolute best and made our experience so much. He treated us like his family, went out of his way to ensure our trip was everything we hoped it would be and more. The accommodation was perfect. The Gorillas were amazing and the whole experience was beyond words. I can't recommend Primate World Safaris enough. 10/10 thanks to Geoffrey.

5.00Incredible experience to be in a group of 9 with guides making a path through the brush to find a gorilla family. The gorillas are habituated to humans so we enjoyed an adventurous hike to spend an hour with our gorilla family. I felt like Indiana Jones meets Dian Fossey. Great guide Gorrith led the way. Our porter Lauren, a tiny but powerful African woman, helped me through the steep areas. A once in lifetime experience!!

5.00Very professional service that provided everything we needed! They make you feel very safe and comfortable so you don’t have to worry about anything. Our driver was great and got us everywhere on time. The drive to Bwindi forest from the airport took about 10 hours and the car is very roomy and comfortable allowing you to rest. If you want a stress free experience, book with them.
