5.00Cathedral cove was beautiful. We had fun digging our hot water bath. David, our tour guide, was excellent. He was very informative- gave us so much information regarding Auckland and New Zealand in general. All members of our group enjoyed this adventure.

5.00Expedigo, you truly excelled. Our day trip from Auckland on 13/3/2026 to Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach and Hahei Beach was simply magnificent. From the very beginning, when Doug collected us from our city hotel, I felt completely safe and secure with him at the wheel, and I’m certain the other eight passengers felt the same. Doug was flexible, friendly, kind and wonderfully knowledgeable, sharing his insights with warmth and clarity throughout the journey. The highlight of the day for my husband and me was Cathedral Cove. Doug generously allowed us three hours to explore this mighty natural wonder, and that time was a true gift. It meant we could choose the adventurous walking path both down and back up again, and, being in our mid-70s, we felt rather proud of ourselves for completing it instead of taking the water taxi! With plenty of time, we were able to swim, relax, take photographs and simply marvel at the beauty surrounding us. Standing beneath the soaring white arch of Cathedral Cove, with the turquoise water gently lapping the shore, was simply unforgettable. Doug had thoughtfully prepared nutritious individual lunches, allowing each of us to eat whenever we wished. After our return to the top, we visited the charming little town of Hahei for a well-deserved ice cream and a quiet moment to reflect on the experience. From there we continued on to Hot Water Beach, where I was amazed at just how hot the water becomes in the small pools and puddles hand-dug by enthusiastic visitors from all around the world. Yet perhaps the greatest joy was seeing so many people gathered in one small place, sharing space and conversation with such kindness and respect. This is a day we will never forget, and Expedigo went even one step further. My husband left his Asics joggers in Doug’s van, and when I contacted Aaron (their anchorman) the following morning, he went above and beyond to track them down, and very kindly delivered them personally to our hotel. Such thoughtful service speaks volumes. Thank you, Expedigo, for an unforgettable day.

5.00Trip to Cathedral Cove/Hot Water beach was excellent. Our tour guide (Jamie) was knowledgeable and friendly. He made the day really enjoyable. The time allotted at each location was adequate. The hike to/from Cathedral Cove was moderate. I would recommend sturdy shoes (sneakers).

5.00Understand the itinerary and know what you are getting into. These sites are a long way from Auckland, so be prepared for a long day on the bus with short stops at the sites. Have bathing suits for enjoying the water, there is a changing room at the Hot Water and you can use private restrooms on the walk back from Cathedral Cove, which is a long walk over very hilly terrain, about 30-40 minutes each way depending on your speed. The ocean is great, the cathedral is great, the walk thru the rainforest is excellent. It's worth the time if you have it.

5.00Had a great time with Doug and my tour mates today. I found the itinerary to be solid for an all day adventure. The stops before and after the two main sites of Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach were timely and fun. The Bugger Cafe, on the way to The Cove, was the source of many chuckles. I enjoyed a muffin and got chocolate from there. The Cove was an amazing natural formation....ALMOST with the trek getting to it. Lol Hot Water Beach seemed to be a spot fold enjoyed when they dug into a spot where the water was a comfortable temperature. Doug provided water and snacks during the ride. And, the lunch was surprisingly filling. He provided useful information about Auckland, the sites, and New Zealand in general. He was very personal. Good on him for putting up with me in the front seat! I would definitely do a different tour with him and the company. Wait, actually, I am! Ha. Except with a different tour guide. 😉 Cheers!

5.00The tour was fabulous. The guide, Jamie, was wonderful and made the day even better by his energy and knowledge of the area. Hot sand beach was cool to experience. Cathedral Cove was beautiful, too. I drive was long but absolutely beautiful and comfortable in the van.
