Wat Phra Singh
Wat Phra Singh is one of the most famous and most attractive temples within the walled old city of Chiang Mai. The temple, which is also known as “The Monastery of the Lion Buddha” is an active temple, with many monks and novices living there. Wat Phra Singh dates back to the 14th century when Chiang Mai was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, and is one of the finest examples of classic Lanna style temple architecture.
Wat Phan Tao
Wat Phan Tao is one of the oldest temples in Chiang Mai. The temple's first structures were built probably in the late 14th century. Located within the old walled city, just next to Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phan Tao is well known for its exquisite Lanna-style 'viharn', the ordination hall, entirely made of teakwood on a stone base.

The reservation said 4 temples, 3 of which had free entrance. We only went to 3 temples and had to pay to get into 2 of them, which made no sense. All the guide talked about was Buddhism, not a word about the city. Not bad, but needs adjustments and clearer information stated in the reservation.

Great tour with guide Saman! We met Saman and our tuk tuk driver near the hotel and was given a cold bottle of water while we traveled between temples. He was incredibly knowledgeable and told us about building methods, age of the temples, significance of the different sculptures, and more while keeping the tour fun. The temples were beautiful lit up and Saman helped us get the best photos while answering all our questions. We finished the tour at one of the night markets were a delicious dinner was provided. Highly recommended!

knowledgeable with a good sense of humor. I lucked out that there were only 3 of us. We became fast friends and made dinner plans. The tour was informative and lots of fun.
