Golden Circle Route

Day 1 begins with visits to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its historical importance as the home of the ancient Althing parliament and for its unique location between the North American and European tectonic plates. The tour then continues to the Geysir Geothermal Area, where Strokkur erupts regularly, followed by a stop at the striking blue Brúarfoss waterfall. The final Golden Circle highlight is Gullfoss, a dramatic two-tier waterfall fed by Langjökull Glacier. Afterward, the journey heads along the South Coast to Seljalandsfoss, where visitors may walk behind the waterfall in good weather. In the evening, there is a short stop in the seaside village of Vík before continuing to the quiet countryside near Kirkjubæjarklaustur for an overnight stay.

South Region

Day 2 focuses on Iceland’s glacier wonders. The journey begins at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where blue icebergs drift from Breiðamerkurjökull toward the Atlantic. You may spot seals among the floating ice. Nearby, Diamond Beach offers a striking contrast of crystal-clear ice scattered across black volcanic sand. In the afternoon, the tour continues to Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park, an area of mossy plains, cliffs, glaciers, and waterfalls. Those with enough energy can hike for views of Svartifoss and the surrounding glacier landscape. The final stop is Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, known for its deep, winding shape and lush green scenery. Overnight stay is at Hotel Geirland near Kirkjubæjarklaustur. In winter, the blue ice cave visit is on Day 2; in summer, Katla Ice Cave is visited on Day 3.

Reynisfjara Beach

Day 3 begins with a drive across the moss-covered Eldhraun Lava Field, a striking landscape formed by one of the largest lava eruptions in recorded history. In summer (May–September), the tour includes a visit to the Katla Ice Cave near Vík, the only natural blue ice cave accessible in Iceland during that season. Afterward, the journey continues to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, famous for its dramatic basalt columns and the Reynisdrangar sea stacks rising from the Atlantic. The next stop is Skógafoss, one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls, rich in local legends and surrounded by spectacular scenery. Guests can climb the stairs to the top for panoramic views of Eyjafjallajökull Glacier and the surrounding landscape. The tour then returns to Reykjavík, with arrival expected between 18:00 and 19:00, bringing this unforgettable three-day journey through Iceland’s land of fire and ice to a close.
