We offer several different tours, each destination wonderful with a focus on aesthetics and special viewpoints of interest. A snowshoe hike with a professional guide allows you to explore the wilderness with the reassurance of a safe and memorable outing.
Our exquisite snowshoe hikes are designed to please. Ranging from those seeking a more leisurely journey with extraordinary sights to those wanting to tackle an exhilarating adventure.
Full Day Snowshoe: Duration 5-8 hours beginning and ending in Whistler (unless otherwise specified).
Half Day Snowshoe: Duration 3-4 hours beginning and ending in Whistler (unless otherwise specified).

5.00I had a wonderful half-day adventure hiking a snowy trail alongside the Chekamus River south of Whistler, up to a ridge above Logger Lake. My guide, Cairn, was from Scotland, which made for great conversation. He was knowledgeable about trees, birds, weather and terrain and he was well-prepared for all conditions. We used micro-spikes rather than snowshoes (which he brought along). The trail was a steady climb through trees. It was snowing lightly all morning and the trees around us were laden with snow and breathtakingly beautiful.

5.00What a fantastic morning with Mike, our guide. Since we were the only ones on their roster, we basically had a private guide along the Cheakamus River. Mike was a great leader and had a lot of information about the outdoors and the Whistler area. We enjoyed the whole trek - and appreciated Mike stopping for special elements to view, plus he was a great photographer and helped us get some good shots together. (If we ever return in summer months, we will absolutely be looking him up for rock climbing!) Mountain Skills had great support staff too - appreciate Kay for her messaging ahead of the excursion to make sure we were all set and Lindsey for her help on the phone and for transporting us to the trailhead. All around wonderful crew!

5.00Had a great morning on the crater rim snowshoe tour . Mike was our guide and was very knowledgeable of the area. He was very engaging and made the tour thoroughly enjoyable . I would highly recommended this tour for anyone visiting Whistler in winter or summer

5.00Nick was an amazing tour guide - I’ve never met a man who was so fascinated by snow lol! But it was beautiful, perfectly paced, and I didn’t feel stupid even when I slipped on an icy patch. Nick made sure we took plenty of breaks, constantly attempted to make sure we were hydrated and was generally just a very knowledgeable and pleasant person to spend 1/2 a day with!

5.00I would definitely book again with Mountain Skills Academy. Ollie and Nic listen to our requirements and put together a great tour. Our Guide was Maya, she was on time, professional, attentive and fun. There were different levels of fitness in our group and she made the trip enjoyable for all of us.
Snowshoe tour was wonderful and filled with beauty.

5.00We booked a private 4 hour 4 person snowshoe tour with our personal equipment. Our guide MAYA was wonderful every step of the way. She gave us some great coaching on how to snowshoe, get up from a fall (we did, many times) and traverse steep paths. We were all beginners so she really had her work cut out for her. And she was professional, kind and patient with us, and was happy to adapt the tour and route to our skills and requests. We had so much fun and really enjoyed ourselves. I would go on a tour with Maya again, and can recommend her to others.
