Temple Of Sri Kailawasanathan Swami Devasthanam Kovil
Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam is one of the oldest and most significant Hindu temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is known for its stunning Dravidian-style architecture, vibrant sculptures, and intricate carvings. The temple, believed to be over two centuries old, serves as a spiritual hub for the Tamil Hindu community. It features a towering gopuram adorned with colorful deities, depicting Hindu mythology. Devotees visit to seek blessings, perform rituals, and celebrate major festivals like Maha Shivaratri. The temple also conducts daily poojas, attracting both worshippers and tourists. Lotus Tower is a 350 m (1,150 ft) tall tower, located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It has been called a symbolic landmark of Sri Lankas's of 2019, the tower is the tallest self-supported structure in South Asia; the second tallest structure in South Asia after the guy-wire-supported INS Kattabomman in India; the 11th tallest tower in Asia and the 19th tallest tower in the world.It was first proposed to be built in the suburb of Peliyagoda but later the Government of Sri Lanka decided to change the location.The lotus-shaped tower is used for communication, observation and other leisure facilities. Construction is estimated to have cost USD 113 million.

5.00Exploring Colombo by tuk tuk was such a fun adventure! 🚖 We zipped through the busy streets, stopped at temples, markets, and even Galle Face Green — basically all the must-see spots in the city. The ride itself was half the experience, with the wind in my hair and the buzz of Colombo all around. What made it even better was our driver — super friendly, easy to chat with, and full of little stories about the places we visited. Honestly, it felt less like a tour and more like hanging out with a local friend who knows all the shortcuts. Highly recommend if you want to see Colombo in the most authentic way!

3.00My driver was cavier. A gentleman who knows all the history of Colombo and can explain it really well. He took me to almost all the tourist attractions and gave sufficient time to explore and took me to a local market where I bought papaya for my mom and carried my bag as well. He took me to a local halal Sri Lankan restaurant & food was tasty. The 3-star I am putting is because of his sweet behaviour and gesture. And yeah the tuk-tuk was nice, cleaned and offered fan and water & and tissue as well. But I don't think a trip should end by visiting a gem shop. Tourists should be taken to tourist places, not any particular gem shop. And if you want your tourist to take back in a gem shop, it should be the national one ( Lakshala), not any privately owned company. And another thing that I didn't like was, they didn't mention anywhere that they will finish the tour by visiting a gem shop ( you can check it in the “what to expect” and “ what's included” section )

5.00Great morning tour of Colombo with Rilwan our tuk tuk guide! History of the country explained simply with visits to multi faith buildings - we even saw a wedding in the Hindu temple! Time to see the sights of the city.

5.00I took the four-hour Tuk Tuk tour in Colombo. I recommend that you do this one of the first days to get an overview of the city and the main attractions. Nice driver and a tasty chicken cottage at a local restaurant.

5.00if it’s your first time to Colombo and your not sure what to do, I highly recommend capital tour tuk tuk. Our driver Faizal collected my partner and I from our hotel and took us to numerous places, explaining the history of Sri Lanka, its beautiful temples and the food markets Colombo had to offer, we felt very safe with him guiding us through the busy streets and the lunch at curry pot had amazing local cuisine, after the tour he dropped us back to our hotel, we had a great time and felt it was a day very well spent!

5.00Really enjoyed the day. We saw all the main attractions in Colombo in just a few hours. We were picked up from our hotel, and the ride was smooth and not chaotic. The tuk-tuk was clean and well-maintained. :) Our driver and guide was Mr. Ricky — we had a great time. We heard the history of Colombo and learned so much more about life here. Highly recommend!
