With exclusive access you will enter the Colosseum through the Gladiator’s Gate, walking directly onto the arena floor. Experience the grandeur of the arena from a unique perspective, as you stand where the gladiators once stood, when they walked out to the sounds of thousands of yelling spectators.
Your licensed tour guide will bring to life the exciting and shocking events that took place where you now stand. Enjoy an up-close view of the underground chambers exposed below, wander through the vast corridors, and climb the ancient stone stairs of this magnificent amphitheater, as you learn of its rich history.

Each traveler must present a valid passport or ID document that matches the name provided at the time of booking for successful entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
Please provide the full names of all travelers when booking. Failure to present a voucher with all travelers' full names at the ticket office prior to entry may result in denied entry to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time of the tour
• Refunds will not be provided for no-shows or late arrivals. If you are late to the meeting point, you will not be able to join your tour.
• Toilets are limited, use the toilet before arriving for the tour. (Breaks made when possible)
• No weapons (pocket knives), glass bottles or large backpacks
• Tours will run rain or shine (unless closed for safety reasons)
There are mandatory security checks al all entry points to the sites. The wait time time for the security check can be considerable during peak times/seasons and has nothing to do with the ticket line
The names provided at the time of the booking cannot be changed.

Incredibly poor communication and unfair practices

2.00My friend and I each booked this tour at the same time but it turns out these were actually two separate groups. In addition, my friend was put on an "upgraded" tour and was able to see below ground at the Colosseum. When I asked why I wasn't offered this they told me it was because he booked his tour first which is factually incorrect; I booked several says before he did. I didn't get a good answer as to why he got the upgraded experience and I didn't (let alone why we were being separated) but the person we were working with was incredibly rude and assumed I didn't speak English (I'm Indian American) so I'm guessing it's unfortunately due to them selecting someone with a more traditionally Western sounding name vs. my more ethnic name. It's quite a shame as the experience itself was fantastic but I would not recommend this tour company given they apparently randomly select people who pay the same amount of money for better experiences with no rhyme or reason, effectively blamed us for booking two different tours even though we used the same link and the same time, and of course the condescension and rudeness and assumption I did not speak English. Plenty of other operators for this same tour; give one of them a try.

5.00Excellent tour. Only way to see inside of the coliseum. The CTO of Viator should be fired. In several decades as CTO of IT companies, I never once allowed software with fatal design flaws to reach customers. Obviously Viator is aware of the problems, since it's lawyers force customers to workaround the problems or forfeit their tour deposits.

5.00I loved Rome, have seen so much history, so many beautiful places and come with the feeling that there is still so much to see. In 3 days we made more than 60 km on foot, knowing the Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica and its Museums, the squares, the fountains, the Coliseum, the Palatine, the Forum, among so many other monuments and churches.

5.00it was worth the money paid. the guide was very informative and told great stories. There is a lot of walking but it is well worth it. From the Forum Ruins to the Colosseum and beyond when we explored on our own. It was a wonderful experience and worth the money and time spent

5.00The tour itself was wonderful. The construction around the meeting site posed a real problem with making it to the meeting place on time. Leave yourself plenty of extra time to accommodate. Our tour guide, the wonderful Barbara, was fantastic! As an art historian and a magnificent storyteller, she brought the history of what we were seeing alive. We even got to celebrate a live wedding proposal from our English friends on the tour!

5.00Our guide “Mitch” (per instructions, never got the spelling) was fantastic! Personable, knowledgeable, eager to take questions. His factual knowledge was excellent and he demonstrated a passion for both the Colosseum and Forum. I would highly recommend this trip for first time visitors to Rome.

5.00Our tour guide Illaria made the tour lively and inclusive to everyone. She provided details and comparison from past to present for each site. She gave us examples that is easy to understand and was very accomodative to all our questions. The tour is usually a small group of 13-15 travelers but I got lucky to be included to a group of 5. Highly recommended!
