This is a short trip to cu chi tunnel that was built in 1948. Its about an hour from Ho Chi Minh city but due to traffic easily takes 2.5 hours. The place is beautiful and you can experience a typical life in tunnel. The experience in the tunnel is exemplary. Overall it was good. The bus was clean. The driver was safe.

That was very good, and the children loved it, especially the shooting part. The tour guide Nick, was invaluable. The only problem was the bus air conditioning, which wasn't cool enough on the return to Ho Chi Minh. Also, Pho lunch on the way back home was very delicious.

We chose a semi private tour with a total of nine passengers in the van with the hope that it would make the trip a little bit shorter. For us it was about 7 hours in total. On the way out, we stopped at a factory that employed artists who are disabled because of agent orange. Then we headed to the tunnels. Some were more challenging than others. Some you could not enter unless you were slim enough. Afterwards, we had a really nice lunch (family style) before heading back to HCMC. If you have a few days in HCMC, it is worth seeing. I recommend doing it in conjunction with the War Remnants Museum. I had them drop me off there rather than my hotel. Our guide was Hai, and he did a good job managing our group of three different parties. It was a nice touch that they provided us with cold drinks after the tunnels.
