Start your evening cruising along the waters of Lake Wakatipu from Queenstown aboard either the iconic vintage TSS Earnslaw steamship or the sleek Spirit of Queenstown.
Step inside the charming lakeside Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant, where the enticing scent of wood-fired BBQ fills the air. Our chefs prepare a mouthwatering spread using the finest local ingredients, featuring a generous buffet of crisp salads, seasonal vegetables, and tender cuts of locally sourced meat. Don't forget the selection of desserts! With panoramic views of Lake Whakatipu and Queenstown’s alpine backdrop, the Colonel’s Homestead offers an idyllic setting steeped in colonial charm and surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds.
Your visit also includes a lively farm demonstration. Watch skilled farm dogs expertly herd sheep and get up close with friendly farm animals. If time allows, take a peaceful stroll through the lakeside gardens before boarding the vessel for your scenic return cruise to Queenstown.

Begin your activity by checking in to our RealNZ Visitor Centre - 88 Beach Street, Queenstown. Board the vessel and travel across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm and return. Enjoy a delicious buffet meal before then watching the farm demonstration hosted by our specialist guides. The experience ends with the return trip across Lake Whakatipu, dropping you off at the same place you boarded in central Queenstown.

5.00Excellent and informative boat ride. The meal was better than I could have imagined…so much food!! We enjoyed the sheep shearing and dog herding demo. There young gal was so friendly and charismatic. Cute gift shop, too. Fun evening for all!!

5.00Such an incredible experience and very much worth the price. 4 of us (all adults) did the 5pm trip with dinner and dog show. The farm was stunning and the dinner first class. So well organised and so much food - you could top up your plate as often as your stomach allowed! Small & large groups are allocated their own table. Staff incredibly friendly. Can see why this experience rates so highly. Do suggest booking direct through RealNZ who own the boat and farm rather than a 3rd party. If considering, do it, you'll have no regrets!

5.00This was one of our favorite activities in Queenstown! The steam ship ride over was fascinating, the Farm food was delicious, the staff was friendly. The sheep show was fun! All around great time!

5.00We took the old ship which was a joy to be on. The cruise was smooth sailing and lovely views .The dinner is fantastic! Plenty of choices to choose from and the quality is top notch. Service is great and the views from the restaurant are spectacular.
