Tulamben was a very anonymous fishing village in the dry lands of Karangasem for a very long period. Nowadays, it’s the busiest diving destination in Bali. Since the discovery of the USS Liberty as a diving destination back in the 1980’ies,
USS Liberty Shipwreck

This is the most famous dive site in Bali. The USS Liberty Shipwreck is a 120 meter long shipwreck just 50 meters off the shore in Tulamben. It lies between 10 and 30 meters, with a small part a bit more shallow. This dive site has everything for everyone. It is the easiest wreck dive in the world. The Liberty is covered with coral and has an abundance of fish life around it.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
It is recommended to bring a towel and a change of clothes
Evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive
Optional DAN and Dive-master insurance (insurance specifically designed for divers) is available for purchase through the tour operator
Diving within 18 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor

4.00Took me and my wife to the ship on a day trip Firstly the site is well look after by the locals meaning there was no rubbish on the wreck We went with aqua marine from seminyak The wreck is all but gone only bulk heads remain the is a outline of a wreck but its glory days are gone Having said that it is still a bucket list dive site and a must Would do it sooner rather than later due to deterioration If you are expecting a wreck the likes of truk lagoon you will be disappointed But would recommend for us die hard divers

5.00Amazing experience scuba diving, first time doing it. Many great photos were taking by the instructor who was funny and kind and very knowledgeable and made me feel calm and safe. Taxi picked me up and waited onsite and drop me off again, friend driver alway happy to help and very polite and respectful. Value for money 10/10 Highly recommend 10/10

5.00It takes a while to get to Tulamben but it’s definitely worth it. The staff at the dive centre couldn’t do enough for me and made me feel very welcome. The dive at the coral garden was great but the wreck was amazing. So glad I’ve done this dive it’s definitely a must do for divers.

5.00I knew diving for the first time would be difficult, but luckily the guide (Wayan) explained everything in details, slowly, so that both me and my friend understand all the important things that you need to know, he is very patient We took two gopros with us, trust me, it was worth it, every second of the video After the two diving sessions we received a delicious homemade meal I recommend everyone to come and experience this adventure who stumbles upon this review
