Walking tour of the Edinburgh Castle grounds. You'll be introduced to the History of Edinburgh Castle, its residents and buildings. Highlights include: - St. Margaret's Chappel, the oldest surviving building in Edinburgh, - Mons Meg, a 6.6 tonne cannon, - The Great Hall, where monarchs could eavesdrop on their court, - The Honours of Scotland, the oldest crown jewels in the United Kingdom, - A cemetery for dogs. Please note that this is a visit of the Castle grounds only, as due to the reduced size of some indoor spaces and the popularity of the Castle, tour guides are not allowed into enclosed spaces.

5.00I have just experienced the most amazing guided tour of my life. I’m not particularly interested in history, but having seen Braveheart, I was looking forward to visiting Edinburgh Castle. Our tour guide, Joe, was absolutely incredible. He was a fantastic storyteller — I was completely captivated and, at times, even moved by the stories he shared. I can highly recommend Joe to anyone wanting to experience Edinburgh Castle.

5.00We could not get tickets to the castle, so we figured we would try a guided tour, which included entry to the castle. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. The tour is designed to give you the background and historical relevance to the surrounding buildings/museums. This makes what you are seeing that much more relevant and impactful, adding context. Laura was great at focusing the group's attention and providing advice on where to spend the remaining time at the end of the tour. We were very pleased with our experience.
