This was definitely a huge disappointment in many ways and not worth it. Our driver Wee Davie was a very nice person. However, the trip was insanely disorganized and dragged on and on. It was 3 days of endless driving, just stopping to see some tiny rocks or streams that you can easily see in almost any country on earth. The highlands are incredibly overhyped and nothing special at all. The hotel they gave us had no elevator so we had to carry all four of our suitcases up five flights of stairs. It was insane. Viator just assumes that you are a local person with one small overnight bag. They don’t consider international travelers with suitcases with them. Also, there was no reason to stay overnight at the Isle of Skye for 2 nights. One night is enough. This trip could have easily been a day and a half instead of dragging it on for 3 days. There were also other issues. Our driver did not give us clear instructions about what time he would pick us up or what the itinerary was. We had to try very hard and ask him multiple times to get information out of him. Also, he had a ridiculously strong Scottish accent and a lot of people could barely understand what he was saying. I respect people from various parts of the world with different accents but for God’s sake, at least try to speak slowly and clearly so that people can understand you. In addition, half of the rest stops were in areas with terrible facilities. I remember on the second day of the tour we were taken to a grocery store and told to “grab lunch” then we were driven to the hillside and expected to just sit on the grass and eat the “lunch” we bought from the grocery store earlier which was a cold sandwich. There weren’t even any picnic tables or benches or anything. I mean come on. Overall, this was the worst trip ever. Don’t ever take this tour, especially not with Viator.

The first day is a long travelling day, but the second day makes up for it! The third day is also long with many great stops along the way! Alan was our tour guide and he was fantastic with so much knowledge!

Many incredible sights in Isle of Skye. Wonderful, knowledgable and entertaining tour guide, Alan! Not happy with accommodations though.
