Embark on a true Scottish adventure with our 3-day tour small group tour to Skye from Edinburgh. Journey through the magnificent Scottish Highlands, before arriving on the mystical Isle of Skye. Enjoy a full day exploring the island's most beautiful spots, before travelling back down to Edinburgh via the most photographed castle in Scotland, Eilean Donan.
Choose between single, double, or no accommodation at time of booking and travel by air-conditioned coach throughout your journey.
This tour can be booked with accommodation included or without. Accommodation options include: hostel, B&B, or hotel. If choosing to book your own accommodation, please ensure it is within 2km of Portree town centre.
• Please note: from 3rd December 2024 our Edinburgh tours will depart from NCP Castle Terrace, EH1 2EW.

Collapsible wheelchairs with removable wheels can be accommodated providing the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them board and disembark.

Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or a full refund.
Please arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before your tour's departure time.

This tour can be booked with accommodation included or without. If booking your own accommodation, it must be within 2km of Portree town centre.
Luggage is restricted to one medium sized suitcase per person. For guidance: a medium sized suitcase is considered 60-69cm high and roughly 45cm in width. Luggage storage facilities operated by a third-party are available in Edinburgh.
Please note: from 22nd December to 1st February 2025, Eilean Donan Castle will be closed. We will still stop at the castle for photos and access to the bridge will be available. However, the Visitor Centre and toilet facilities will be closed.

Travel from Edinburgh to Portree
Luss Pier
From Edinburgh our Isle of Skye tour will head west to collect our Glasgow passengers* and then make our first stop on this Skye tour at the picturesque conservation village of Luss, on the ‘Bonny, Bonny’ banks of Loch Lomond.

Travelling north via Tyndrum we pass over the atmospheric Rannoch Moor before enjoying time to walk and admire the dramatic Glencoe, site of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald Clan.

5.00This trip was worth every penny. Andrew. T, who was our main guide, and Vix on Timberbush tours made the trip amazing with all the sights they showed us and all the history they shared with us throughout the trip. The Isle of sky and the Highlands were so beautiful, it was really worth spending a few days here. Would love to stay a few more days. Highly recommend travelling with Timberbush tours and I will definitely make more excursions with them if I am lucky enough to steer the holiday to Scotland again. /Malin

5.00Great way to see Isle of Skye and all the natural wonders. Plenty of time to take photos, use washroom and grab a bite to eat. Martin provided enough history of the areas. With the weather being a bit rainy and snowy, he was able to redirect the route for us to see the Fairy Pools. We enjoyed our stay in Portree each night. The group was small, the bus had reclining seats. Good idea to bring snacks and water with you. Bring layers as we had snow, rain and sun! Well worth the trip!

4.00The Isle of Skye is breathtaking, and we were lucky to have rare sunshine in January, I officially did the tour leaving Edinburgh on the 29th of January 2026. The tour size was perfect (about 10 of us including our guide Jake W), and the driving by Jake, was top-tier. He made me feel safe and was a very chilled, nice guy. He does talk quite a lot about his love for Glasgow, and you'll get to see his very spirited, long- running rivalry between Glasgow and Edinburgh throughout the trip. Be aware that Timberbush may change your departure date if they don't have enough people. This happened to me, and because I had booked specific non-refundable accommodation to get a harbour view in Portree, I lost quite a bit of money. The company states that you should book accommodation that can be adjusted but sometimes when you are booking a trip and the cancellation date has a cut off point, which in my case was the day after the Timberbush cancelled the tour, moving forward by 1 day, which caused a domino effect and you might end up in my situation where you've lost money per night for each location and there's not much you can do about it, so please do keep this in mind if you decide to book outside there accommodation package. They did eventually price-match a discount I saw on GetYourGuide after I called them. Overall, a Fantastic tour, but the office logistics were a headache.

5.00Had an incredible 3 day tour experience to the Isle of Skye with our tour guides Neil and Michelle! Neil was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Scotland and was an excellent story-teller who kept us well-informed and entertained! Michelle was extremely lovely and warm who also provided us with some excellent bits of trivia and knowledge on Scotland. The 3 day tour flew by and we did and saw so much in the company of these lovely guides. Could no recommend Timberbush tours enough.

5.00Andrew is a great tour guide. His humor and personality really endears him to you like a longtime friend. Thank you for making the Isle of Skye tour a rich time filled with an almost encyclopedic understanding of Scotland and a behind-the-scene history with interesting little facts. When we said goodbye, it felt like we were saying goodbye to a dear friend, then the end of a business transactions. In every way, with gratitude, and appreciation, we are so glad we booked our tour with Timberbush, and that we had the gift of having Andrew as our guide.
