Kuiburi National Park is the only place in Thailand where more than 320 protected wild elephants live and you will have the unique 90 - 95% opportunity to see them in this untouched wildlife. In addition to Asian elephants and gaurs, the other relatively common mammals are golden jackals, various deer, langurs, white-handed gibbons, Burmese hares, Malay porcupines and wild boars. Kui Buri has a rich fauna of birds with over 260 species currently. Crested falcons, grey peacock pheasants, ferrous partridges, Tickell's brown hornbills, white-crowned hornbills, brown fish owls, yellow-ventilated green pigeons, white-fronted dwarf-eared owls, mustache hawks, red-necked hornbills, blue-collared parrots, chestnut-nickel fork tails, red-bearded bee-eaters, maroon woodpeckers.There are also birds like the Crested Fireback, Indian Roller and Asian Openbill bird or even gaurs and leopards.

Kui Buri National Park
After a one-and-a-half-hour drive, we reach the Kui Buri Visitor Center and transfer from the national park to a guided safari vehicle. We travel to the Huai Luek Wildlife Area and wait for the elephants and other animals to forage. We also visit the beautiful dry-humid forest and observe birds such as the Crested Fireback, the Indian Roller, and the Asian Spoonbill! Occasionally, we may also spot gaurs and leopards. Please note before booking: This trip is not a zoo visit. There are approximately 320 protected wild elephants left in this national park, and the chance of seeing elephants in the wild and on rough terrain is about 90-95 percent. However, we cannot guarantee 100 percent that or how many elephants you will see. Sometimes you will see them from a distance or just a few hundred meters away. There are also many other animals to observe, such as birds and gaurs. We will stay in the park about 3 Hours or sometimes until it is getting almost dark.

2.00Waste of time …spent the day being pointed out only hornbill birds and a Thai cow which nobody could see as 2 pairs of binoculars between 8 strangers does not work . Food already was on the table when got to restaurant and it bland and cold . Seriously do not waste you’re money . The only wildlife I saw was a cat on way back to wagon 😳

3.00Move on .. nothing to see. Noah would never have put his Ark together…. First stop 1 elephant in the distance. Second stop 1 elephant with tusks a bit closer. 3rd stop 1 gaur like a black dot. Two pairs of pied hornbill did fly past. In between a few egrets & nothing else. No birds no monkeys nothing. The guides were delightful & kind & could not fault them. Just a totally underwhelming experience, really & the feeling was that a lot of marking time by waiting for ages at each place. There was a gaur on the way out in the trees. Just disappointing… I know it is wild animals & you take a chance, but it was pretty bleak. The company were very helpful , but took the money before telling me I would have to make my own way as we couldn’t be picked up … an extra 2,000 baht. No refund

4.00Fun trip to Kui Buri National Park, comfortable transportation and friendly and nice guide and driver. We saw both a pair of elephants, kaur and beautiful birds, and had a nice meal with the other participants at the end of the tour. Something difficult to get answers to the questions we had because of the language barrier, the impression that the staff could only answer what they had "worked on" in English. But all in all a great experience, recommended on the most warm as the "low-slope" safari

5.00The visit to the national park is very well organized. We are picked up at the hotel and dropped off at the park entrance. There, rangers take over and, in a pickup, we crisscross the park. Four fixed stops are planned, corresponding to four observation points. The visit to the park itself lasts about two and a half hours. The guide and driver is perfect. The rangers are very efficient and friendly. On the way back, we stop by the side of the road for a meal, a shame in an oay renowned for its tasty cuisine. The tour is warmly recommended and deserves five stars, the disastrous culinary aspect being overshadowed by the beauty of the park.

5.00A great half day , picked up from the hotel around 1h 15m to get there and then another 15/20m till we saw the first of several elephant troops and other local wildlife. We deliberately choose an overcast and cooler day as hoped it would increase our chances and we weren’t wrong 20+ elephants and an amazing scene at the end as a troop of 9 right in front around 25m away. We didn’t see much else but it’s really about seeing elephants in the wild. A lovely guide in the forest in our off road vehicle. The Thai restaurant you stop at for dinner is really good also. The driver and guide excellent. A brilliant trip

5.00Talked with the guide who has been doing the tour 19 years and he said he only had 6 times where they had not seen elephants. Super tour and great food to cap off the evening as well!
