The visit to a cave in Aokigahara forest was amazing. Our guide, Takasi, was very knowledgeable about the biodiversity of that area and provided a lot of interesting information throughout the trip.

My husband and I traveled from Tokyo to Mt Fuji for this tour on the train. We met our guide Toshi at the station. We were the only two on the tour, so it was a private tour. Toshi stopped at a park before the entrance to the forest so we could use the restroom and take photos in front of Mt Fuji. Then we headed to the forest where, again, we were the only people there. Toshi explained all the trees, mushrooms and wildlife to us as we passed them. When we got to the cave, the real adventure began! We climbed down a stone wall to the cave entrance below. Then another ladder climb, and we were in. Once inside, our head lamps lit the way as we took in the ice and cave structures. Toshi was an excellent guide, showing us where to walk and explaining what the different features of the cave were. He also took 30+ photos for us, which he later air dropped after the tour. We also got to see his album of photos he’s taken of the different animals in the forest. Once we wrapped up, he dropped us back at the station so we could catch a train back. (Note: the buses were all sold out and so was the next express train so you may want to book your travel back to Tokyo in advance.) This tour was such a memorable experience, and we will cherish it for the rest of our lives. 10 out of 10!

This tour takes you into Aokigahara with a knowledgeable guide who will share history as well as flora/fauna facts. This is definitely an experience and trip you will want to take with someone well versed in the area and cave.

I personally loved this tour. The guide was very informative about human.and natural history and provided a wonderful outing. One big thing of not is the forest walk isn't too intensive, but the cave has a lot of large, rocky terrain. It was certainly too much for one person in our party who is much older and not particularly active. It was a great activity otherwise but please consider the physical aspect before booking! I would rate the physical activity as a medium or a 3.5 out of 5.

Our guide was excellent. He had a lot of local knowledge and talked about the local history and fauna. He also was very worldly so talked with us about travelling while on the way to and from the caves. The caves were interesting and we went deeper than expected which gave us the chance to have some unique experiences in the dark.
