Issued by EZ-Link Pte Ltd, the ez-link card was Singapore’s first contactless stored-value card for public transport, introduced in April 2002 for use on MRT, LRT, and buses. Its fast contactless technology enables transactions to be completed in just 0.2 seconds, making travel quicker and more efficient.
In 2008, a new version of the card was launched in compliance with the CEPAS standard, becoming the first CEPAS card introduced in Singapore. It remains the most popular choice for contactless prepaid payments in the country.
Today, the ez-link card is widely recognized for its convenience, speed, accuracy, and security. Commonly carried by locals, it is used not only for transportation but also for everyday payments such as ERP charges, retail shopping, dining, and government services.

We purchased to three day tourist card from Orchard road MRT station. Unfortunately forgot to purchase on arrival from the airport. We weren't near a station that had tickets available, so we discovered that you can use your credit card to tap to access train and tap to exit, cost only 0.12 to go two stations to access self service machine for card. Great thing is, it doesn't activate till you first use it. We used it quite a bit for transport around city, is it worth it, not sure. Cost was $29 for three days unlimited pass to use MRT and buses. I used the Singapore transport app to navigate around city, very useful tool. When changing lines be mindful that they use acronyms for lines, they are colour coded but for example, the north east line is marked ' NEL '

The web site shows the Singapore Tourist Pass plus Ez-link Card cost Sing $9.59/card. I travelled to Singapore early this year and purchased TWO Singapore Tourist Pass plus Ez-link Cards, and TWO 5-day 4G SIM cards, and I purchased them from Chani Recommends (a sales booth inside T2) and paid Sing $196. It seems that I was over charged. There are many stores selling SIM cards at the airport. Please check with other stores before you made the purchase.
