If you are the first group of the day, you can participate in the flag raising ceremony. The park rangers are very nice and willing to teach you the history.

Very informative history lesson. We followed a volunteer who gave us many tidbits regarding the significance of Fort Sumter. He was excellent. The ferry ride to and from was nice and relaxing. The Federal employee gave a brief overview before we landed. It was obvious that both persons we interacted with enjoy being with us visitors.

The narrator on the ferry ride to Ft. Sumpter kept us entertained and presented a lot of interesting information. It was special to see the actual artillery used during the war.

Beautiful trip out and back to the fort. We did not enjoy the talk by the ranger at the flag and left before he was finished. More time at the fort would be nice.
