Living a rich life is about experiences, not stuff – our spectacular backyard is full of adventure and we want to share it with you. Get out of your comfort zone and be rewarded as we conquer the highest waterfall cable climb in the world together.

Our intermediate climb involves approximately 3hrs of climbing steel ladder rungs and crossing 6 bridges next to a spectacular waterfall and finishes with approximatley 45 minutes walk down a mountainside trail. This tour is perfect for active adventurers who love the exploring outdoors, waterfalls and beautiful places. You will be climbing next to vertical waterfalls and being happy with heights helps! Stay dry. No experience required.

If you are hesitant or just want a smaller taste, we recommend our Level 1 / Beginner climb.

What to bring: water bottle, snack, sturdy close-toed walking shoes, wear comfortable trekking clothes suitable for the weather, Optional: small backpack, camera, sunglasses, sun protection (hat and sun block)

Minimum age on this tour is 12 years. If you are under 16, you must climb our via ferrata with an adult guardian. For children under 12 a private tour may be an option. Please request upon booking.

All minors (16 years and under) require an adult guardian’s signature on their waiver. There are no upper age limits to this activity.

Please advise if over 220 pounds (100kg) or under 88 pounds (40kg)

Our Level 2, Intermediate climb, is an epic climb that just keeps getting better. The route follows on from Level 1 with great views, and some steeper sections. You are guaranteed a climb you will remember. Our tours take place on a private working deer farm, nestled in the mountains, 20 minutes drive from Wanaka. Amazing experience, excellent communication with booking a large group. Once we got there the team were amazing, very professional and were great with our group. They took heaps of photos for us and cared for our team especially some of the staff who were very nervous. Thanks Rocky and Chester.

We had a super day at Wildwire Nov 29th, 2025. Weather was sunny and glorious and the waterfall was pumping. The Level 1 climb was gradual and any fitness level could comfortably cope. Level 2 was more difficult with a few tricky spots that were challenging. The fast running waterfall and wind made it even more intense. I absolutely loved it!

Our initial Level 2 climb was canceled due to rain, but Madi was very diligent in communicating with us and accommodating a reschedule date. Our tour guide, Chester, was top notch - enthusiastic, helpful, encouraging, and focused on safety. We lucked out, only having one other couple in our group who stopped at Level 1. So we had all of the second level to enjoy at our own pace. It was a highlight of our whole New Zealand trip! Climbing up the cliff beside the waterfall was thrilling and we always felt secure and safe. We stopped to take a ton of pictures - but consider a go pro or secure strap as it's a loooooong way down! From arrival to departure the experience took about 4 hours.

Such a great experience. Lovely people and great views. Everything was explained so well. Felt safe and confident with the climb. Also epic sandwich at the top. Will definitely do again.

This is a MUST do in Wanaka! I'm a reasonably fit 65 yo and had no problem doing the Level 2. Would have done Level 3 but there was too much water flowing on the day. Xena was a brilliant instructor and I haven't had this much fun in years. Still smiling now. Do it!

The Wildwire climb (level 3) is one of the toughest things we have achieved. Our guide Rocky is very experienced and provided encouragement and support to complete this climb on one of the hardest days due to the high water level! Would we do it again?? Hell yeah!!
