Our intermediate climb involves approximately 3hrs of climbing steel ladder rungs and crossing 6 bridges next to a spectacular waterfall and finishes with approximatley 45 minutes walk down a mountainside trail. This tour is perfect for active adventurers who love the exploring outdoors, waterfalls and beautiful places. You will be climbing next to vertical waterfalls and being happy with heights helps! Stay dry. No experience required.
If you are hesitant or just want a smaller taste, we recommend our Level 1 / Beginner climb.

Minimum age on this tour is 12 years. If you are under 16, you must climb our via ferrata with an adult guardian. For children under 12 a private tour may be an option. Please request upon booking.
All minors (16 years and under) require an adult guardian’s signature on their waiver. There are no upper age limits to this activity.
Please advise if over 220 pounds (100kg) or under 88 pounds (40kg)

Join us on the highest waterfall cable climb in the World. We are right there by your side as you challenge yourself and your comfort zone. Our Level 2, Intermediate climb, is an epic climb that just keeps getting better. The route follows on from Level 1 with great views, and some steeper sections. You are guaranteed a climb you will remember. Our tours take place on a private working deer farm, nestled in the mountains, 20 minutes drive from Wanaka. The air is clean and the views just keep getting better and better the higher we go. It is an adventure of a lifetime. 5.00Our initial Level 2 climb was canceled due to rain, but Madi was very diligent in communicating with us and accommodating a reschedule date. Our tour guide, Chester, was top notch - enthusiastic, helpful, encouraging, and focused on safety. We lucked out, only having one other couple in our group who stopped at Level 1. So we had all of the second level to enjoy at our own pace. It was a highlight of our whole New Zealand trip! Climbing up the cliff beside the waterfall was thrilling and we always felt secure and safe. We stopped to take a ton of pictures - but consider a go pro or secure strap as it's a loooooong way down! From arrival to departure the experience took about 4 hours.

5.00This is a MUST do in Wanaka! I'm a reasonably fit 65 yo and had no problem doing the Level 2. Would have done Level 3 but there was too much water flowing on the day. Xena was a brilliant instructor and I haven't had this much fun in years. Still smiling now. Do it!

5.00The Wildwire climb (level 3) is one of the toughest things we have achieved. Our guide Rocky is very experienced and provided encouragement and support to complete this climb on one of the hardest days due to the high water level! Would we do it again?? Hell yeah!!

5.00We had an incredible experience with Wildwire. Going through the twin falls on cliffs is an excitement hard to describe in words. You get to have a direct touch with the raw beauty of nature-all under a secure and friendly environment with the help of the amazing staffs of Wildwire. The staffs were the other highlights we'd like to mention. Zina was our amazing guides. She made sure everyone had a secure and enjoyable experience, took plenty of photos for all of us, and ended up airdropping us all the beautiful photos for free. Writing a good review is the least we can do to thank the amazing team.
