This tour goes to Damnoen Sadawak floating market about two hours (~80km) out of Bangkok. It’s totally a tourist trap. You get in a long boat that is paddled around some canals and stops at various stalls selling cheap tourist trinkets. There are a few boats selling fruit and veges. None of it looks authentic. Then after go for lunch at the only place where you can eat (self purchased) and then there are a whole heap of souvenir shops and other stalls. Nothing authentic Thai here. Then you go to the railways and wait for the train to come through. It’s kind of interesting but nothing that special. Here there are some authentic Thai setting but still a lot of souvenir stuff. The tour ended at MBK shopping centre and had to make your own way home. The guide was friendly and helpful. But this tour is just tourist garbage. I wouldn’t bother if you want a more authentic Thai experience or want to see a real floating market.

It was fun, I really liked the Railway market & experiencing the train both in being on the train & watching it go by at the market. A negative would be the day felt a bit rushed. A little more time would be better.

Pui was a very kind and driven guide. She made time to bond with her group and provided us with useful information. she did everything she could to guide us as best as possible. Like most Thai people, her knowledge of the English language could be better. But she made sure we understood everything and she was willing to repeat everything we couldn’t understand. I rate Pui a 10 out of 10. The activity itself was good, but not ‘great great’. The railway market was fine, though a bit frustrating because you were not allowed to stand everywhere you want when the train passes the market. We got kicked out several shops/spots because we had to buy something in order to be allowed to ‘not get crushed by the train’. It literally took us several minutes to find a place. The floating market itself is a nice experience, but the vendors are a bit too pushy. Prices are high, but they expect you to haggle which makes it fun and interesting.

The tour was great and Peace our guide was very skilled and gave great insight in Thailand culture. She was on the other hand too much pressing on photographing us and telling us to pose in every stop, she did well, but it should be us requesting, not her. I am close to 2m in height, the mini bus was not well fitted for my leg space needed.
