Hanauma Bay is a sunken volcanic crater and a protected marine life conservation area. The bay is one of the world's best places for beginner snorkelers! Swim among sea turtles and more than 450 species of vibrant tropical fish! We recommend choose the 6:00 am transportation when it is available. You will avoid the crowds and the waiting time to snorkel. State admission fee that is not included, the entrance fee is waived for children under 13, members of the active duty military (ID required), and for residents of Hawaii with proof of residency.

Our tour guide/driver was great, explained everything we needed to know and was very personable. Equipment we rented was good. Hanauma Bay was beautiful and were able to see many fish and a monk seal that came on the beach. The only con would be that it rained most of the time we were there and the sun started to come out the last 45 minutes we had left (we had the 6 am start). You can never predict what the weather will be, so just be prepared. I would definitely recommend this excursion if you want to go to Hanauma Bay.

We had the best time, no shortness of beautiful tropical fish. Exceptional knowledge of snorkel equipment and what I would need to ensure the mask stays in place on my face. Highly recommend.

I absolutely loved this tour. As convenient as it may seem to drive yourself with your own gear, I highly recommend leaving the car & just bringing water, beach snacks & yourself! In the van, there was extra beach gear to rent and conveniently venmo for. I got a waterproof phone case that worked great. Our guide, Orlando, was fun & knowledgeable. On the drive, he even pointed out food spots to see and stay away from. He gave us wonderful snorkeling tips and a thorough safety brief with pics of fish and a map of the bay. Gear was in excellent condition. He also hustled to get our group an earlier entry time. Be advised of some hurry up and wait times as park staff usher in people to throttle traffic and make sure everyone sees another safety brief. About 1700 people are only allowed each day (have heard different numbers too) The earlier you book your tour, the better! It gets really crowded as the day goes on. It’s shallow water but be careful of the corals and you’ll have a great time. Don’t forget your $25 cash entry fee and sunscreen that is allowed. I saw so many beautiful fish! Highly recommend Kaimana Tours!

Wow! The bay is beautiful beyond belief! We were the first ones on the beach, which was a hugh plus in selecting where we wanted to place our chairs. The snorkeling adventure was spectacular! Both of our drivers were great too!

The bay is gorgeous! And the parking/reservation/entry process was complicated, so we were happy to have a guide that took care of us! And our guide gave us many other suggestions for activities and told us about the scenery on the way. The snorkeling equipment provided was fine. The kids loved the beach and the shallow water, but water shoes are a must! The shallow water was a problem for the adults however. It made it super hard to snorkel without touching the coral!! We went super early, so the beach was not at all crowded, but maybe I would pay more attention to when high tide was next time! I will say a couple of caveats. We rented chairs from the tour, but you can rent a wide variety of stuff on the beach (including wet suits), so you wouldn’t have to carry it down. Also, the form asked about food allergies, but no food was provided! The fast food place at the park didn’t open until 8:30, and meeting the van was at 5:55….I would bring snacks!
