Rest and be Thankful
We have a short photo stop at the ‘Rest and be Thankful’. The name comes from the words etched on a stone near the junction of the A83 and the B828, by soldiers who built the original military road in 1753. The road was so long and steep that it was traditional for weary travellers to rest at the top and be thankful for having reached the highest point.

5.00The drive to and from the Castle was beautiful, and our kilted guide Chris gave us history and culture along the way. The tour of Inverary Castle was impressive, and the castle grounds were amazing. It was easy to locate our coach, which was just the right size for comfort and group management. We were returned to our ship in good time.

5.00Excellent tour. Billy, our tour guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and punctual. This tour was limited to 16 which was so nice. There were gift bags waiting for us when we boarded the van that included chocolate, cookies and a bottle of water. We left at 8 am and beat most other tour buses to each location. Highly recommend this tour.

5.00It was an amazing experience. The Highlands is stunning and with Billy's guide and knowledge made it an extraordinary experience. The timing of each location was thoroughly examined so you'd get plenty of time to enjoy every stop. Billy was very attentive. He was very funny and very hospitable as well which brings together the Glasgow slogan - people make Glasgow. My family and I would highly recommend taking any and all yours from Discover Scotland Tours. You'll undoubtedly have a great time.

5.00WOW - what a great day. We were picked up promptly at the port and taken around Loch Lamond, a guided tour of Inveraray Castle, an hour stop for lunch (own expense) in the charming town of Inverarary and onto Luss. We find a surprise bag on our seats filled with lots of local goodies. Our driver was fun and knowledgeable. A great day (despite the wee bit of rain). Don't hesitate to book this shore excursion trip.

5.00One of the best tours I have been on. The scenery was just stunning and ample time was given at advertised stops plus a few extras were made along the way! The most important part of my experience was that they were true to their website promise.... Guaranteed departures, You book, you go! I was notified a few weeks before that I was the only person booked on my chosen tour. I, of course thought they would cancel on me with that being the case but no they didn't. I was given the option to change if I didn't feel comfortable being by myself or still go ahead with my tour. Communication back and forth was easy and replies were quick. When my ship docked I was indeed still the only guest and my tour guide, Dave was very knowledgeable, friendly,funny and I had the most amazing day!! Thankyou you so much!
