We spent most of the 'bike tour' walking on Miyajima Island, which was beautiful but took up far too much time. Lunch dragged on and the tour ended up lasting 10 hours instead of the proposed 6–8. By the time we got back to Hiroshima, it was sunset, so we rushed through the castle and Peace Memorial Park as it was getting dark — exactly the part of the tour most people come for. Our guide, Sage, was kind and knowledgeable but she avoided deeper discussion of Hiroshima’s wartime history and frequently described WWII as “icky stuff,” which felt dismissive for a group of adults. This was more of a walking tour than biking, and while I know others had better guides, I wouldn’t recommend our version unless your main interest is Miyajima rather than Hiroshima itself.

This tour was definitely one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip to Japan. It combined biking, ferry, and train travel in a way that felt fun, meaningful, and perfectly paced, even on a (very!) hot day. Our guide, Aimée, made the experience truly exceptional. From the start, she was warm, welcoming, and immediately made us feel part of the culture and environment we were exploring. She was incredibly knowledgeable and brought so much depth to everything we saw, while also being genuinely funny and engaging throughout the day. Her sense of humor kept things light and enjoyable, and she was always open to questions and conversation. Her explanation of Hiroshima’s history, including the events leading up to the atomic bombing and its aftermath, was among the most sensitive and balanced presentations we've encountered... thoughtful, respectful, clear, and deeply informative. The route itself was beautiful and varied. We biked along a quiet river, took the JR ferry to Miyajima, explored the island’s shrines, and shared a lovely local lunch. Visiting the Peace Memorial Park and the Cenotaph added a powerful layer of reflection to the experience, and Aimée guided us through it with care and clarity. She was also wonderfully thoughtful given the extreme heat -- adjusted the pacing, making sure we had plenty of breaks, and even bringing cooling strips and extra water to keep everyone comfortable. This wasn’t just a tour of places...it really felt like a meaningful journey through history, landscape, and culture. We’re so grateful to Aimée and, as avid travelers and bikers in every place we visit -- we would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Hiroshima. It was a day we’ll never forget!

Wonderful tour, thoughtful host. From start to finish this was a brilliant tour. It was a very hot day but I was so energized by the itinerary and our host. Cycling through Hiroshima was a wonderful experience, only enhanced by the commentary. Truly appreciated every part.

We had an unforgettable experience on this bike tour in Hiroshima! Our guide, Ihsan, was absolutely amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and deeply passionate about the history of the city. He gave us a thorough and moving explanation of the events surrounding the atomic bomb, making the experience meaningful and educational. The tour also included a visit to beautiful Miyajima, which was a fantastic addition. The pace was just right, and everything was thoughtfully planned. One of the highlights was stopping for Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki—absolutely delicious and a must-try local specialty. This was the perfect way to explore the city and understand its rich, complex history. Ihsan made it truly special. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hiroshima!
