Choose FlexiToursNZ for a smaller . We put less seats in our vehicles than factory standard and only 3 seats in the back row. Pay a little more to be comfortable. This tour involves a lot of driving and is more enjoyable if you are comfortable and not crushed up
against other people on the vehicle. We keep the groups small with no more than 12 people on our vehicle, meaning our drivers can and will give you, personal service.

5.00Would highly recommend both Hobbiton and Waitomo. They were very different experiences, but both were so fun! Hobbiton was so charming and fun even if you’re not a huge LOTR fan, and the Waitomo Caves were so cool to see. Our drivers/guides were Darryl and Jason, and they were both kind and knowledgeable!

5.00A long day and lots of driving, but the bus/van was very comfortable and the group was small. Our driver was very friendly and informative. The stops at Hobbitron and the Waitomo Caves were well worth it. This saved a day by doing both on the same day. The trip is advertised as 13 hours, but that's a worst case. For me it took just over 11 hours. This company is very organized and make sure you know exactly what to expect and when and where to meet. I highly recommend them.
Hobbit was more than worth it and Waitomo caves and glowing worms was a bust

5.00Trip to Hobbiton was amazing. Jason, our driver was punctual, fun and knowledgeable. Operation at Hobbiton runs perfectly. Even though it was stormy with lot of rain and wind, ten there was prepared. Lunch was exceptional and a plenty. Waitomo caves were ok but the boat ride in the caves and glowing worm setting was over hyped and not worth it. Instead people should try real glowing worm experience going deep in the jungle in pitch black and observe galaxies of glowing worms…

5.00This was a great tour, and very practical since I did not have much time, so I could combine the visits to Hobbiton and Waitomo with travel from Auckland to Rotorua. Hobbiton is an absolute must see, and the Waitomo caves were also a special place. our guide/driver was also very knowledgeable and showed us some extra sights on the way.

5.00Our family loved every minute of this tour! Hobbiton and the Glowworm Caves were absolutely stunning—truly magical experiences. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, the transportation comfortable, and the van well-equipped. An amazing day from start to finish!

5.00It's an early rise for a 6:30am pickup but the tour ran smoothly. At the Hobbiton and the caves, the actual tours were conducted by those managing the sites not FlexiTour. The tour fee you'll be paying beyond the entry fees for the Hobbiton and the cave are in effect paid for the transport and the driver's commentary. In this respect, the coach was spacious and the driver was informative, creative and nice. It was good that the guide decided to show us some extra attractions as an alternative to us waiting an hour for the caves tour. I must say that the tour is on the pricier side compared to other similar tours for the Hobbiton and the caves. The tour also stops at the Hobbiton first before the caves, meaning that if you intend to be dropped off at Rotorua after the caves there's a bit of extended journey time. You may need also need to finish your Hobbiton lunch relatively swiftly as there is not much time for seconds. Overall, however, it is a pleasant experience for those who don't drive and want to join a tour where everything is sorted out for you.
