Our driver, Hannah, was excellent. On the way to Hobbiton, she gave information about Māori culture and Rotorua. As we got closer, she talked about the movie sets. Once we arrived we had another guide for the set tour. Walking through the set was magical- so many amazing details. The tour ended with a beer at the Green Dragon and a good buffet lunch.

Better that I was expecting! However at the end of the tour our bus broke so we had to wait and it ruined the rest of the day and the scheduled activities. The company’s actually running the tours need to do everything possible to minimize such problems. People in this tours is in a very tight schedule so they need to plan for the unexpected

For all fans of LOTR and The Hobbit, Hobbiton is a really exciting and fun place to visit. See hobbit holes, hear some stories and eat up. I went by myself but found some nice people to chat to. Our tour guide James was knowledgeable and helpful, especially with taking photos of us. Our bus driver Ngata was extremely engaging and helped us to pass the time there and back in a fun way.
