Istiqlal Mosque

After we arrive at Istiqlal mosque we can do some pictures of mosque and Cathedral at outside. Before we go in the Mosque we the guide bring you inside then Explore the mosque will be completed to other travelers. while entering the mosque providing to take off shoes due to of Muslim regulation and we stay waiting other travelers to explore by local guide. Istiqlal also called Independence mosque which is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the 9th largest mosque in the world in terms of worshiper capacity. after finished proceed to across the street on one hands off most experience then visit the old church.

Jakarta Cathedral

After we arrived at Church then we just take some photos out side or we can visit while you can see the design of Cathedral in Jakarta. Cathedral is one of the old church standing before the mosque, so the area has in a story since Dutch era. This is neo-gothic church was consecrated in 1901 having been rebuilt at same location. The Jakarta cathedral is located near Merdeka square, presidential palace and in front of istiqlal mosque. we visiting in one step then continue for sightseeing and photostop at monument.

This is a good way to see a little bit of the city, while on business trip with tight schedule. In 4 hours we saw the main attractions of Jakarta and the guide was very knowledgeable in local history. Interesting and well planned! Fitri was an excellent guide, time was well spent!

Nice tour, but tends to take a little longer than stated (unpredictable traffic). I had the specified number of hours available and we had to hurry, sometimes we just looked out of the window. But it was still very nice, very informative and the guide was great!

Very comprehensive tour through the city. Chinatown was my favorite stop. The tour includes many governmental and religious places. Ms Rachel, the tour guide, did great job explaining the historical significance of each stop.
Wonderful, insightful introduction to Jakarta’s history and culture.

Requires a moderate (half-mile) amount of walking over generally level pavement, with one or two flights of stairs/steps. Water is provided by the guide, and you’ll need it. Jakarta is hot; you’ll want to have a hat, and scarf/handkerchief to wipe the sweat off your face. Guide and driver were an outstanding team—guide to provide background and insight at each of the tour highlights, and the driver to navigate Jakarta’s traffic, which to a westerner is overwhelming and chaotic. Guide let the tour proceed at my pace—less time at some locations, more when I wanted to linger at, for example, the wayang kulit workshop. There were unexpected treats, like being introduced to a Chinese tea ceremony at Patek Enam, and being given an introduction to how people worship at a Buddhist temple. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It took about 5-6 hours altogether, and the price was very reasonable.
