  We had a five-day trip around beautiful Sri Lanka with amazing guide and driver Theekshana, Theek, who brought us and gave us many great experiences, good advice and tips. We visited the theme market, temple, traveled by train to Ella, was on safari and many other small and large attractions. The biggest was all the friendly and beautiful people we met on the road . Such a tour was a wonderful way to experience Sri Lanka on.

  Really well-organised day out. Very stress-free!! We had a driver from Kandy who was excellent. It was quite foggy but Amila was a superb driver. Following the cyclone we weren’t able to take the train from Kandy due to damage on the railway. So we were taken to Ambewela to catch the train. We still had two hours on the train, so it was fine. It was quite misty at times, so the views weren’t always Insta perfect 🤣, but we loved the haunted quality to the views. Highly recommend!!!

  The train tour unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the severe weather at the end of November; the route was closed .., Chathuri then took care of us on a safari in the Udawalawa National Park and at the Orga of a private driver to Weligama. Communication and care and warmth could not be beaten! Thank you, Chathuri!!! - I would have liked to have told her personally, but unfortunately we did not meet. At any time I would entrust her and her agency again ‚

  We had wonderful stay in Sri Lanka. Beautiful nature, the kindest people, warm weather and great food. Our guide Pradeep Wickramage was the best, and showed us so much more than we pre booked. He had our best interest at heart every minute of the trip. Our very best recommendation to Magaweli tours and Pradeep.

  Bawantha was an absolute life saver! I had been looking at various ticket booking options and was coming from Colombo and booked the Kandy to Ella journey, and forgot to book my Colombo to Ella ticket! I only realised the day of! Bawantha was incredibly kind and found a solution for me, going way over and above. All train journeys appeared sold out on 12Go but he found a ticket. Thank goodness! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate his time and problem solving. He also gave me extra tips! I was also nervous about the e-ticket - the trains in Sri Lanka seem so confusing. But he was reassuring, I got my ticket no problem and was lucky with a window seat. Second class is very comfortable and a perfect journey! I highly recommend booking and Bawantha is the best! THANK YOU!

  We ordered train tickets for the route Ella – Kandy through a Sri Lankan provider in Kandy, about three weeks before our scheduled trip. The booking process initially seemed serious: We had to provide our personal details and received various information – once via the website, once via email and additionally the indication that tickets would be sent at 6:30 a.m. on the day of travel. Unfortunately, this is where the confusion began: The website specifically mentioned that tickets must be printed and supposedly delivered to the hotel. At the same time, the email said that online tickets would suffice. To be sure, we have asked several times – via WhatsApp, by phone under several numbers and via alternative contact channels of the travel agency. However, we have not received any feedback, which has made us very unsettled ahead of the trip. On the day of the trip we finally received the tickets – via another contact option – at 6:30 in the morning. We're grateful for that. However, the seat choice did not correspond to our specifications: We sat neither next to each other nor on the desired left side, which was particularly disappointing on this scenic route. Overall, the service was unfortunately unreliable and not transparent, although the ticket purchase itself ultimately worked. Clear communication and reliable accessibility could have avoided much uncertainty here. Until then, I can only recommend this provider to a limited extent.

  How is this even legal? They buy up all the tickets and resell them at a massive markup. Communication was awful. No indication of how we get the tickets until I reached out then gave me an answer that made me wonder if I would even get the tickets. We get a message early in the morning saying that the train we had booked was not available and put us on a later one. Our driver we arranged the night prior had to wait an hour We get to the train to discover we have reserved 3rd class. On top of this everyone around us had similar experiences and were complaining. How can this be considered a tour? No human hands us the tickets. I sent a message to the company to showcase my disappointment and they ignore my messages until I state I will give the a bad review. I get an instant excuse and nothing more. Total garbage.

  We ordered train tickets from Kandy to Ella. Everything worked perfectly. Good Service with extra service with AirPort transfer which we booked some day before arrival. Nice driver Dulaj 👍
