Learn to surf at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in Queensland, one of Australia's most iconic surf destinations. With its warm waters and golden beach that streches for 1.9 miles (3 km), Surfers Paradise is the place to learn to surf. You'll learn to surf in waist deep water with fully qualified surf instructors who are also surf life savers. Soft beginner surf board and rash vests or wetsuit are included.

Meet us at our shop on Cavill Avenue, right next to Hungry Jack’s, in the buzzing heart of Surfers Paradise—arrive 15 minutes early, and we’ll get you set. We hook you up with a long-sleeved rashie and the perfect soft-top board, then cruise down to the beach. The session kicks off with a quick safety rundown before we dive straight in, catching our first waves in waist-deep water. After that, we hit the sand for pro tips on popping up like a legend. Then it’s back in the water, where your instructor will be right there, helping you ride wave after wave.

5.00I had so much fun trying and failing from the board. Luckily I had Taahu by my side. Great and funny guy. What he explained was easy to understand and to put in practice immediately after. You not gonna regret booking this activity

5.00I came to Golco to learn surfing for the first time in my life. I learned the 1:1 lesson at Go ride a wave. The weather was good, but the instructor was so kind to teach me so well that I had a good memory of the experience until the first surf standing. The instructor was so good that he was full of passion.

5.00It was torrential rain and wind when we had our lesson, but still had a great time! We were a fairly large group lesson but had 3 instructors which balanced it out well. The beach was empty due to the weather so plenty of room for our lesson! The length of the lesson was 2 hours, which was plenty long enough for the weather and for how tiring it was! All of the instructors were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They noticed how cold I was at the beginning due to the weather and one ran back from the beach to get me a wetsuit without me asking, which helped massively and I was incredibly grateful for. Having never been on surfboards before, my partner and I learned loads and both managed to stand up a couple of times by the end of the lesson thanks to the help of the instructors! We’d love to book again on a calmer day and we’d definitely use Go Ride A Wave again when we do.

5.00My friends and I had a great experience doing this beginner lesson. Jameson was the main instructor his explanation of balance and catching waves was very clear and simple we loved it. Tahoo and Bora also helped a lot to push us on the boards during practice and the photos were taken well. Great value for this experience

5.00Jack, Jameson & Andy were great instructors. They were very knowledgeable and had me standing up in no time despite the strong current that day. Had an awesome time and would highly recommend to anyone traveling either solo or in a group - thanks again guys!
