This tour brings you to the site of the signature scenes that were shot in the Queenstown Lakes region. This tour covers a lot of ground to show you the beautiful and varied sights of the area. For film enthusiasts, nature lovers, and adventurers alike, this really is the complete, exploring the rugged and beautiful Queenstown Lakes Region used by many filmmakers. For the morning, explore the beauty of the Head of Lake Wakatipu and the lush Paradise Forests. Bring the films to life with our authentic props, dress up for some photos or simply enjoy the serenity. You will return to Queenstown for lunch at a local café ($20 voucher) before the afternoon tour begins. You will then set out to enjoy the sights around The Queenstown area. Explore more stunning filming locations, adventure off- road with river crossings in the Arrow, and venture down a historic and exciting mining road. You will see a spectacular panoramic view over the area before being returned to your hotel to end the day.

Such a great day! Mike was a wonderful tour guide and very knowledgeable. The LOTR tour was very scenic and beautiful.

Had a great day out with Michael in the morning and Phoebe in the afternoon. Visited some great LOTR locations, which were brilliantly illustrated and explained by the guides. Also managed an exhilirating ride down Skippers Canyon, a wild ride up the Arrow River, and even managed to find a spec of gold! Only sorry we didn't take more videos. And of course, we did a bit of dressing up! :-)

Such a great day visiting sites from LOTR. All the guides were fantastic, our son even managed to pan a few flakes of gold. Definitely recommend doing this if you are a LOTR fan

I got a private LOTR tour for my husbands 50th birthday. Finley and Justin did an INCREDIBLE job at showing us around the filming sites. They were both very knowledgeable in all things LOTR especially Justin who was a massive fan. Thank you both for a very memorable day.

Had an incredible day out. Turned up for Lord of The Rings and got a better experience than expected. Unfortunately some of the places were inaccessible that the usual tour involves. Jenny more than made up for this with her wealth of knowledge and experience of the areas of New Zealand. Every place we wanted to see we still got to see and everything we missed we still got to do thanks to her ideas. The places we went to we learnt more about The Lord of The Rings and got to see amazing scenery.

Our tour was an unforgettable experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better guide. Queenstown and surrounds have had wild weather so the team had to re-plan on the fly to make sure their customers had an amazing time, and they did that beautifully. Jenny was our driver and guide for both halves of the day, and she really made this tour an excellent experience. She was friendly, knowledgeable, passionate about the area and the tour, and also an excellent, fun and safe driver. Thank you to Nomad Safaris and Jenny in particular for an outstanding day in Queenstown.

This was a great experience. Super well organized and Phoebe, our driver for the day was very helpful with giving all the relevant information to all the places we visited, also making the road super easy. Despite the weather, we still accommodated managed to see all the places. Totally recommended

Must do for everyone, especially for fans of the movie. Large area covered showing several spots, and with some adventure. Justin was the guide and made everything better.
