The Navajo name for Lower Antelope Canyon is Hasdeztwazi or “Spiral Rock Arches.” This incredible canyon has been created over many thousands of years by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes which we observe today.
The views in Lower Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyon’s walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow.

There is one long steep stairs that required you to turn backwards to navigate stairs. There were also a couple of short ones that weren't too difficult to navigate. My husband is in his 70's and was able to enjoy the experience Our guide McKenzie was a wizard in assisting with optimal picture taking! Our pictures came out beautifully!

Antelope Canyon is so Amazing! It is more vibrant in pictures versus in person. Our tour guide was native Indian and so kind and calm. We enjoyed out tour immensely!!! WEAR A HAT & SUNGLASSES because wind above blows sand down into the canyon and it gets all in your hair and eyes. We had red scalps whwn we got out. LOL!
