On this guided day tour you walk onto the unusual terrain of the Matanuska Glacier. You will see and learn about many glacial features such as seracs, moulons and crevasses. Don't forget your camera! This is an unparalleled, authentic activity. Tour price includes glacier access and guiding. Drive time is two hours each way, with a stop half way there where you can purchase lunch and snack items.

Your day begins with pickup at your hotel, or at the downtown Visitor Center, in our comfortable Mercedes Sprinter van. Pickups are between 7:45 and 8:30AM, depending on location. As we head out of Anchorage your guide will talk about the City's history and key points of interest. Journeying north on the Glenn Highway your guide will share interesting information about the Matanuska Valley and the various communities along the way. After about 30 minutes, the natural beauty of the drive takes over as we enjoy the view of the Talkeetna and Chugach mountains and, on a clear day, the Alaska Range. The Matanuska River is our companion as we ascend to the Matanuska Glacier and arrive for your guided hike. The glacier guides will outfit you with ice spikes and helmets (in the summer); there are also hiking poles available for your use. These guides are experts in what the glacier has to offer each day, as well as its natural history. There will be lots of opportunities for great photos! After your approximately 2-hour adventure on the ice we head next door for lunch at an authentic Alaska lodge with an epic view of the glacier. Fantastic day hiking on the glacier. Lori was an excellent driver and it was very nice for everyone to be able to enjoy the day without driving. Glacier guide was very personable and knowledgeable. Great experience, would recommend.

Amazing. Take the early tour! Lori and Alyssa were wonderful. Would come back and do it again. Great trip for the family. Beautiful sites. The weather was perfect. Lori and Alyssa are amazing story tellers and they know their Alaska and glacier history and facts. Definitely recommend booking 907 Tours to do the glacier hike.

Best tour we’ve been on during our whole trip, and one of the best I’ve ever been on! Lori was our guide, and she also owns the company, so it felt very special. You can tell how much she loves the outdoors by the energy that she gives when sharing it with others. We thought it was a little pricey at first, but after doing research and reading reviews from other places, we were 100% sure this was the right tour to book. Worth every penny! The ride to and from the glacier went by faster than I expected; probably because of the amazing views, along with Lori’s commentary. Main event: GLACIER TIME! Absolutely amazing experience! When you get to the base camp, you’re fitted with microspikes (and snow pants/gear if needed), you then get on a sled pulled by a snowmobile until you get to the glacier itself. Sophie guided us across, around and even through glaciers and crevasses. She was so knowledgeable about the environment and her energy was contagious! There are so many tours to choose from, but I really hope you choose 907 Tours!

Trekking on the very nice glacier, the girl who guided us was very professional and kind! Great lunch break, beautiful views along the way, shame not to provide a few more stops along the way to admire the landscape.

The trip on the glacier was good! The experienced guide who picked up the bus shared a lot of Anchorage and glacier stories with us, making the trip less boring. Glacier guides are also professional and happy to help!

One of the best and most unique experiences I have had! The drive to the glacier was very beautiful. And our guide Lori stopped at scenic spot to let us take pictures. The hike itself was also extremely cool. They took us to a variety of glacier formations/landscapes and it was very interactive. The experience exceeded our expectation. After the hike, Lori took us to this beautiful restaurant that overlooks the glaciers. Big shoutout to our wonderful guide Lori, who told us so many interesting stories and facts throughout the trip and made this experience truly heartwarming and wholesome. Fantastic day! I was in Anchorage on business with only one day to do something amazing. Lori and the team at 907 tours provided everything I could have hoped for. The glacier hike was gorgeous, the trip there from Anchorage was stunning, and our guide on the glacier was exceptional. Lori took us to lunch at a lodge overlooking the glacier with an incredible view (reasonably priced). She stopped multiple times along the way to allow the group to take pictures. She was delightful throughout the trip and very knowledgeable on the area. Would definitely use 907 again. Highly recommend. PS shoe spikes are provided for the glacier hike, so no worries.
