Visit Maui’s famous snorkeling and diving destinations Molokini Crater and Turtle Town (or Coral Gardens) on a snorkeling catamaran! Molokini is an extinct volcanic cone and the snorkeling visibility is usually 100 feet or more! Many different species of marine life live within Molokini. Green sea turtles, fish, urchins, harmless sharks, manta rays and coral surrounded by crystal clear water all year around make Molokini a must do on your vacation activity list. This boat tour is on all tourist must see lists, and it's one of Maui's favorite activities. This is also one of Maui's most family-friendly activities.

Join us on our awesome Molokini and Turtle Town snorkeling adventure aboard Malolo. Malolo is a 55 foot comfortable, stable catamaran. She is equipped with easy access stairways into the water on both the front and rear of the boat. There are also 2 restrooms, trampolines to lay out on and a friendly, experienced captain and crew. A continental breakfast and deli lunch are both included as is all your top-notch snorkeling gear. We also have flotation devices such as foam noodles, body boards and float vests for your use. Optional wetsuits and high quality 16 mega pixel Olympus underwater digital cameras are available to rent.

3.00I booked the trip for 6:30am, we should up at 5:45am as instructed. Eventually someone show up and said you have been “upgraded” to a bigger boat. That boat takes off at 7:30am. It was hard enough waking up early and we had lunch plans so wasn’t happy about being switched. They said it was an “upgrade” and the food was better etc. The food is not good, and the boat is over crowded in my opinion so our family could not sit together the entire trip. When you get to the snorkel spots they keep everyone crammed in a tiny area so you are dodging other people when swimming the whole time. We only saw 1 turtle in “turtle town”. Apparently the town consists of one resident. The ride was very rough so several people got see sick and you get the bonus of seeing the Chinese float by you while you snorkeling. Good times!

2.00Unfortunately, I can't review the trip on the Malolo. At the last minute we were moved, without option, to the Calypso. We had specifically booked a smaller boat - that's what we like. The Calypso is a nice boat and the crew is great - and, if you like a big boat, book it. We would have appreciated more notice and other options instead of being forced to go on a large boat.

4.00The experience was fun. The only Crew Member that really talked to is was Erika and she was great in and out of the water. The mic the Captain spoke on was too loud and you really couldn’t understand what he was saying. They did do what I feel was a “money grab” and dictated what “tips” should be at the end of the trip. I get tipping is customary in the US but, I also think it depends on the rating of service rendered. The food was ok, your typical muffins/danish breakfast (it would have been nice to have juices rather than just coffee/teas and lunch was sandwiches, fruit and potato salad. We were offered coffee and alcohol for drinks but don’t drink either, so we passed. We did bring our own water bottles and just stuck to those. Photos were available for an optional purchase (we didn’t purchase any as we had our own underwater camera). Overall we had a good time and we did see both fish and turtles.

5.00It was a beautiful day. Great snorkeling. Very knowledgeable crew. The turtles were shy but wonderful trip nonetheless. Only downside was parking and finding Boss Frogs. Allow plenty of time.

4.00Remember that the amount of wildlife is not guaranteed. (We see way more turtles in front of our condo than we saw at turtle town.) Still the opportunity to be inside the crater of Molokini was cool. Also, even though I did not personally snorkle, I was impressed by the off and on loading methodology of the ship. There was a great deal of opportunity for people of differing ability to feel safe and unconfined. For example, I would have used the stairs to make my way in and out whereas my niece was perfectly comfortable jumping off the side. Another example, flotation devices and wetsuits were available but not required to snorkle. The food was good and of high quality.

5.00It was great. This is our 2nd time doing this excursion. The crew was friendly and efficient. Joe is very charismatic. It runs like a well oiled machine. We saw lots of fish, turtles and jellyfish. Will do this excursion again on the Malolo.

4.00Fun snorkeling trip. About 75 minute boat ride out with plenty of instruction from the crew. Water at the crater was very blue and clear. Lots of fish. Then 30 minute ride to see some turtles. I had a great video going and the ship photographer zoomed up with his huge camera with lights and scared the turtle away.
