• First time visitors will love the Zoo

  After being hacked and having EFT card suspended by bank due to trying to pay for our car park - great start. Warning the parking meters are hacked. Use cash $2 for 5 hours. Also take your lunch or picnic. A can of coke $6. Paid approx $120 to get in having to use other EFT card (lucky we had another one) we were surprised on how much it had changed since our last visit. The enclosure’s are wonderful however there’s really not that many animals there. No seals, penguins, elephants and lionesses. Disappointing. Only one pigmy Hipo, and mainly one to two of anything else. Dispute all of this we did have a good 2.5 hrs there with warm weather and a slight breeze. First time visitors will love it.   Amazing experience, easily accessible via public transport from downtown Melbourne. The zoo is very clean, staff are friendly and most importantly — the animals are well looked after. I highly recommend making a stop at the Melbourne Zoo!

  Great zoo! Easy to get to and very clean. Many animals to look at the the gift shop is cute (with helpful staff).

  Even though it was raining the day we visited we really enjoyed this zoo. We were especially interested in the native Australian animals.

• Wow there’s so many different animals lots to see really enjoyed walking around take photos beautiful different animals.

  We absolutely loved the time spent there and the helpful staff. we did the reptile experience and the orangutan experience. The people at the reprile trip gave us so much time and went out of their way to engage and inform us of sooo much it was fantastic, the teens were seriusly fascinated by it too. The orangutan trip wasnt worth the money, could hardly see a thing. And the food was gross, old soggy burger really expensive.

  Many of the exhibits were open, but the animals were not in view. The platypus for instance, also the otters.

  Underwhelmed and overpriced for a disappointing experience. We went yesterday after I had been 20 years ago and had then an excellent visit Yesterday however was a non-event as most animals were not visible either sleeping or not there at all. A total rip off. I would not recommend wasting your time or money going.

  

  

  

  

• A scam visit

  We visited on a day of 40.c. It was like visiting a museum with no exhibits. We were ripped off. The zoo should be shut to visitors. This was a scam. Shame on you. The next page asks for photos. How can we photo nothing!

  Melbourne Zoo was OVER my expectations, my experience was really deep, the zoo structure was laid out really well split into organized sections, The zoo is maintained really well including spacious creative enclosers designed for animal welfare that provides perfect habitat for the animals as well as nice visibility for visitors with shades, greenery creating a calm nature habitat, staff were really cheerful and had put on the cheesiest smiles. I'm not sure about the admission fees but it must have grown due to inflation, Melbourne Zoo was located on the outer edges of Melbourne City near the city parks and the more peaceful neighbouring housing. The zoo is filled with visitors during the afternoon and parking is risky, I would recommend getting there earlier where there'll be more car parking space and the zoo would be less crowded. The zoo is maintained really well including spacious creative enclosers designed for animal welfare that provides perfect habitat for the animals as well as nice visibility for visitors with shades, greenery creating a calm nature habitat. Melbourne Zoo took us a whole day to visit usually and gets really sweaty during the hotter seasons since the zoo center is out in the open where the food stations, restrooms and resting area is located where most people would hang around. Overall, I had a really nice experience getting to see Aussie animals as well as animals from other areas, I would highly recommend visiting here when going to the outskirts of the city.
