Great excursion. You will have a workout yet see the most amazing views. We got close to the glacier and had a great tour guide that was comical and kept us entertained and educated us about the area. I was a little sore the day after but wouldn't change it for the world. All the gear we needed was provided to us and yummy hot drinks and snacks provided at the end. 5 stars!!

We had an amazing experience. Luke was our guide and he was professional, knowledgeable, and a true environmentalist. He allowed us to experience Alaska and a way that went beyond my expectations.

Our family of three--47M, 44F, and 13F--did a canoe tour to the Mendenhall Glacier in August 2025. Our guide Mason ("Like the jar", as he introduced himself) was exceptional and simultaneously all of the following: professional, safety-focused, informative, and a lot of fun. He started with a great safety briefing, answered all of our questions, and got us on Mendenhall Lake safely. Once we were afloat, he helped our group of 7 inexperienced paddlers work as an effective rowing team. If anyone did anything potentially unsafe--like shift in their seat in a way that offset the boat's balance--he quickly and professionally corrected them so that we were all (literally) on an even keel. Throughout the 5 mile round trip, he cracked jokes, told great stories about the wildlife, and gave us a lot of good history lessons. As far as the gear, we were provided flotation vests, rain pants, rain jackets, waterproof boots, gloves, and large dry bags for any non-waterproof valuables we wanted to take aboard. It was constantly raining throughout our trip, but we never felt overly uncomfortable. The tour itself was amazing. Even with the rainy weather, the vistas were stunning. The colors of the greenery, the blue hues of the glacier itself, the misty mountains shrouded in cloud. As far as wildlife, we saw a bald eagle eating a fish, a porcupine outside its den, and a variety of birds. It was a good workout too. We'd paddle for a bit, then take a short break, then resume paddling, another break, etc. Each break was long enough to snap a couple pics or short videos. Once we arrived at the glacier, we hung out there for about 5-10 minutes to get all the pictures and video we wanted. All-told, we were on the lake for about 2 hours for the 5 mile round trip. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. 10/10. We would definitely go with this company again.
