There's a lot more to York than the city. The countryside is a photographer's paradise. Whilst you will want more time and shots this trip does not disappoint with variety and ground covered. Unfortunately the heritage train trip didn't live up to expectations with just forest scenery on either side. The novelty value and contribution to maintain the track and engines is a consideration. Good value for most travellers and will likely have you wanting to explore more.

Mark our tour guide and driver was absolutely amazing. He did a wonderful job with telling us about all the history everywhere we visited. He stopped at some nice scenic views so we could take photos. He was extremely helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour to anybody who would like to see the North Yorkshire Dales and Whitby.

It was a lovely trip that explored the range of scenery in Yorkshire (moors, dales and the town of Whitby). Sufficient time was allowed in each place to get refreshments and enjoy a bit of exploring. The train ride was a nice extra as well. Our guide, Mark, was quite engaging and shared many interesting facts about the area.

It was enjoyable, but not breathtaking, the best bits were definitely Whitby for 2 hours and Aidensfield for half an hour to see where Heartbeat was filmed. I had never seen the Yorkshire Moors so worth it for the experience. By far the best part was Whitby, so unless you particularly want a steam train ride or see the Moors perhaps a different trip to Whitby would suit better.
