The English Lake District is one of the most recent additions to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Admire the rolling countryside and craggy fells whilst listen to your guide about the Lake District's history, geology and the people that have shaped this much-loved region.
Along the way, you will pass some of the region’s most spectacular sights, such as the Borrowdale Valley, Buttermere, Honister pass, and Grasmere. There are many stops on route; a highlight is the Castlerigg Stone Circle with its panoramic views. Our friendly driver/guide will provide an on-board commentary on this full day spectacular tour of lakes and mountains.

Please note, the tour starts from Windermere Information Centre @ 9.25am. It is not possible to be collected from a different location once chosen. If you are not at the correct pick up location and miss the tour, we cannot offer alternative arrangements.
Due to a landslide, Kirkstone pass is currently unpassable. Therefore until further notice you will not visit Brotherswater or Ullswater on your tour. Our incredible driver guides will instead take you off the beaten track to a few other fabulous Lake District sites and lakes.

5.00Tour was fantastic! Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. Just a shame that tour guides can no longer talk while driving, so any questions you'll have to save for the many stops. We visited 10 lakes and some fantastic viewing points! Plenty of photo opportunities.

5.00I went on a full day tour of 10 lakes with Mountain Goat and despite having done it before (and on several occasions too) its a great way to see the Lakes and see lovely scenery and places. Bob was the driver / narrator and accompanied by Tony (I have been on 3 of his tours in the past/ nice to see again) The weather wasnt kind, but here was a nice mix of commentary on board, seeing lovely places including Grasmere, Ashness bridge, Castlerigg stones and a lunch stop in Keswick for 75 mins. The coach is comfortable and the driver is skilled at negotiating all those narrow / steep roads - that's why I like MG tours as I couldn't do it! I would also like to add that I do feel the drivers at the start of the trip should ask all passengers not to use their mobile phones (ie talking on phone) when on the bus and when the driver is talking. Its not respectful to the driver, other passengers and is rude. Its also very distracting if sitting nearby. Luckily this was dealt with and the passenger finally got the message 2nd time round! PS On an aside I'm sorry that the High Adventure tour has changed - it was one I really enjoyed - lovely Langdale Valley, Wrynose and Hardknott Passes and Wast water - the drivers skill was impressive negotaiting those roads I always felt that Muncaster Castle was the weakest link on this tour and a time filling add on I would rather have seen much more of this lovely scenery and part of the Lakes rather than watching flying displays of birds and visiting the castle. Also dont really want to waste time having lunch there. I do hope in the future it will revert back to the "old" tour which was great.

5.00I just finished the Ten Lakes tour with Mountain Goat, and it was honestly such a great value for the price. I've done a lot of traveling, but our guide, Tim, is hands down the best I've ever had. His passion for the Lakes is so obvious, and he’s incredibly knowledgeable. He even gave us a ton of extra tips to help us maximize the rest of our stay. I also have to mention his driving - those narrow, winding roads are pretty intense, but he handled them like a total pro. If you're heading to the Lake District, definitely try to get on a tour with him. Best to also book direct for best price and flexibility

5.00An excellent trip. Our guide was informative, very friendly and helpful. It was a great way to see the area. Minibus was comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our day. Really good value for money.

5.00We had such a wonderful excursion. Tim was very knowledgeable of area. Not only was he entertaining but having the a locals perspective made the experience all that more meaningful. The views and photos of said views were beyond expectation.

5.00Had an excellent day out across the Lake District and Tim was an excellent Tour guide who was very Knowledgeable about the Lake District and it's local history. He knows many great spots for photography and is very engaging with his tourists. Would highly recommend this day trip as you'll see a lot in one day. A +++++ Thanks for a great day out Tim.

5.00Whether you arrive to The Lakes by public transport, fancy leaving the car parked up or just want to take in the spectacular beauty of this National Park without any hassles then Mountain Goat has to be your first choice. - Numerous pick up points - A wide selection of local and regional tours - Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff I chose the 10 Lakes Tour which covers well know lakes, meres and waters, popular villages and attractions as well as spectacular scenery and amazing photo opps/stops. Our driver/tour guide Steve was so friendly and had an abundance of both local and tourist information as well as ‘stories’. Would be delighted to do another tour with Steve as it was so enjoyable but the time appeared to go by too quickly. Get booked - you won’t regret it!
