Your journey starts by meeting your guide and boarding one of Iceland’s largest custom-made super jeeps! We’ll depart from Glacier Lagoon and drive approximately 40 minutes toward Breiðamerkurjökull, a glacial tongue extending from Vatnajökull. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about the formation of ice caves, glaciers, volcanoes, and local culture. The caves we visit are 100% natural, constantly forming and changing with the seasons and weather conditions. As such, the cave we explore will depend on the conditions on the day of your tour. We may find ourselves at the edge of the glacier, or we might need to hike a short distance (500-1000m) on the glacier to reach the cave. The walking distance on the tour therefore varies between 1-4 km so all participants should be in good health and comfortable with walking. Before entering the cave, your guide will provide a safety briefing and equip you with helmets and crampons/micro spikes if needed. Each tour is unique due to the ever-changing nature of the glaciers and caves. You’ll witness a variety of stunning ice formations and colors, from brilliant blue to emerald green and even striking black ice.

5.00Ice cave tour was one of our bucket list in Iceland, Thanks for Valentine, our tour guide to make it memorable experience. Total visiting time was reasonable and lucky that our group was not too packed. Our tour guide was amazing, very helpful and friendly. Totally recommended!

5.00Great experience! The 3 hours flew by and the Barbara was a fantastic toor guide. Super helpful to answer any questions. We had enough time to take in breathtaking views in silence, take pictures, and explore the caves. Best for tourists who want a little bit adventure without too much hiking.

5.00I had to reschedule my original blue ice cave tour due to the blizzard, and I was very pleased that they offered an early (8:20 AM) start time since our group seemed to be the very first to hit the caves that day. Our group also seemed smaller (11 in total, plus the guide; other groups had around 15, plus the guide). Our guide, Daniel, was very informative and friendly. He offered to take my picture at several spots, which was very helpful so that I didn't have to ask anyone else. The "jeep" ride was bumpy but fun. The whole experience was breath-taking, like being on another planet.

5.00There were two groups of six of us. Our group was guided by Gudrun Maria, and the others went with Barbara. We had a wonderful time. The explanations were clear, explaining (to us Dutch) the unknown world of glaciers and ice caves. We had plenty of time to film and photograph all the beauty. A fantastic day with two excellent guides.

5.00Tour starts in the lagoon, you drive with huge terrain vehicle to the glacier around 30min. Then you hike to the cave around 10min. I like that tour is in a small group, around 10 people, compared with other providers with 20+ people. Cave is beautiful! Our guide was very sweet and funny, also sharing really interesting facts about glacier history, cave formation process etc. He was also very helpful, doing photos of everyone and made us feel very welcome. Genuinely recommended.
