The Steamboat NATCHEZ is taking some time off, but her sister vessel, the Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS will be taking her place. You’ll get the same authentic riverboat experience of a leisurely, two-hour cruise on the mighty Mississippi, enjoying traditional live jazz, craft cocktails, and all the beautiful New Orleans sites, while also exploring the newly renovated riverboat. Make sure you check out all four decks – the top deck view is a sight to see!

In order to help preserve the French Quarter from vehicular traffic, it is requested that you please walk, if possible, to the convenient tour departure point - just a short stroll from most downtown hotels
Tour vehicles are equipped for wheelchair storage. If wheelchairs collapse and fold, they can be placed in the storage compartment on the bus. If the wheelchair is a scooter, then special arrangements need to be made with the supplier for a handicap-accessible bus. This must be arranged 48 hours prior to tour date. Contact details will be on your voucher
If you wish to take both paddle and wheel tours on the same day, you must book the 9am departure

Our riverboats is wheelchair accessible. However, access to the top & bottom decks on the NATCHEZ are by stairs only. Please call us with any questions before finalizing your plans if you have questions on access or personal equipment.
Cruise is suitable for wheelchairs, but restrooms stalls are not wide enough to accommodate and there are no elevators on board.
Please Note: Should the Steamboat NATCHEZ become unavailable for her yearly Coast Guard inspections and/or general maintenance, all cruises during this time will take place on her sister vessel - the newly renovated Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS.

3.00The city tour was headed by tour guide Susan. At first she came across as very informative but as the tour progressed the information became an incessant, nonstop, outpouring of facts and figures that eventually went in one ear and out the other. Susan, take a breath, sometimes less is more. New Orleans doesn't actually have that many sights of any note and the tour was dragged out too long by looking at period houses of little interest. The cruise on the Natchez was also disappointing with little of interest on the river banks and the only consolation was being able to say you sailed a steamboat on the Mississippi.

3.00The conductor and staff were great, the conductor was very knowledgeable about the history behind steamboats and the Mississippi River. My only issue was that it was a boring excursion. If you want a slow and relaxing time, then this is definitely the excursion for you. It just isn’t something I would do again.

3.00A pleasant way to pass several hours in New Orleans. The music was the best thing about the cruise. I am not a fan of big crowds, so bear in mind your own preferences. The Natchez was in dry dock when we went; there was no advance notice that the other ship would be used. No opportunity was missed to urge folks to spend money - on drinks, food, gifts, photos... People weren't truly interested in hearing the captain's narrative, which was pretty informative, so it was hard to hear. I recommend you reserve directly with Gray Tours. Reserving through Trip Advisor (Viatour) meant that we were NOT advised in advance that the second part of the tour via bus was cancelled; luckily we were around the next day and were able to reschedule.
