On our one day tour to Oban from Glasgow you’ll experience a little of everything that Scotland’s spectacular natural beauty has to offer.
This is the rugged Western Highlands where majestic mountains tumble down to glorious lochs. Castles and glens hide tragic tales of centuries ago, and bustling ports serve up tasty food and award-winning attractions.
Your friendly driver-guide will bring Scottish legends to life as we share our country, from the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond to haunting Glencoe.

Loch Lomond
You'll see Loch Lomond through your panoramic window as we meander its western shores. If you look to the right you’ll see Ben Lomond, Scotland’s most southerly Munro (a mountain above 3000 feet) and your first of the tour. We'll also have a short refreshment stop nearby to the loch.
Rest and be Thankful
We pause for photos at the ‘Rest and Be Thankful’, an iconic Scottish viewpoint so named thanks to the words carved in stone by weary soldiers who built the original military road in 1753.

Loved all of the stops and wished we could have stayed longer, but that's a compliment to the tour company for showing us locations that we should come back to. Scott was also a ball of sunshine and made the tour all the more better.

I can highly recommend this tour! Our guide Scott was amazing, it was so much fun spending the day with him and the rest of the group. We visited a lot of nice spots, sometimes just for a quick photo, sometimes for longer. If you are searching for a day trip from Glasgow, this is it.

Karen was an amazing tour guíde, she really made the whole journey highly enjoyable but also very informative. She is very knowledgeable, charming and very professional. I also would like to flag that she is also an excellent driver, which made us to feel safe all the time. Overall, we find the service high quality and good value for money. And would not hesitate in recommending it to friends interested in doing tours in the highlands.

My first tour in Scotland was simply AMAZING! Johnny, Harry, and Ian were fantastic and truly made a big difference to our day. They were very friendly, and we loved chatting with them and hearing the beautiful stories about the places we visited. They also recommended fantastic spots for coffee and lunch. The van was comfortable, and of course the views were absolutely magical. We’ve already decided that all our future trips will be with Discover Scotland. Thank you for such an unforgettable day!

Despite the on-again, off-again windy, rainy Scottish weather, I had the most enjoyable day on the Oban Highlands and Castles tour. The mountains in Ballachulish were an imposing sight. Castle Stalker in the middle of Loch Laich and Kilchurn Castle in Dalmally were neat to see. But the highlight for me was the majestic Inveraray Castle, also known as Duneagle Castle in “Downton Abbey”—the grounds and the rooms were simply stunning. Another highlight was our unforgettable guide and driver, Dave, who had the most wicked sense of humour, which kept me in stitches. And his historic tales kept me fascinated as we navigated the scenic, winding roads. Thank you, Dave for an unforgettable day!

It was AMAZING! The group was fairly small, only 7 ppl in total, which made it a great tour experience. The tour guide, I think his name was Chris? Was so nice and was very knowledgeable. He had great recommendations. The scenery and places were beautiful! Overall, it was a fantastic tour and I HIGHLY recommend it!!

Perfect day, memories for life. Guide Kieran was fantastic, funny, witty, and extremely knowledgeable. He kept our whole family entertained and theday just flew by. Stunning scenery, postcard towns, and all in great comfort. Discover Scotland's bus is much more spacious than the ones I've experienced on the other big companies.

A truly special and unforgettable experience. It was just the two of us on the bus together with our guide, Billy, which made the tour feel even more intimate, relaxed, and tailored to us. Billy is an exceptional guide: passionate, engaging, and always attentive. He managed to share his love for these places in such a genuine way, making every stop interesting and never ordinary. We especially appreciated his patience and kindness, particularly since we don’t speak English perfectly. We felt welcomed and at ease throughout the entire day. It was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for something authentic and thoughtfully organized.
