  We absolutely loved our trip with Hahei Explorers and thought it was well worth the drive from our holiday accommodation in Tauranga. A highlight for us was the smaller group and boat meaning we were able to explore inside the naturally formed caves. The staff were amazing and ran a very well-organized tour. I thought the one-hour tour was an ideal length of time, it allowed us to stop for lunch on the way home and enjoy the rest of the day in the surrounding area. We felt like it wasn't rushed and you saw a lot in the area we covered. I would definitely recommend this trip to family and friends and strongly advise that the smaller boat is perfect because of the access to the caves.

  We loved the tour - great to get out on the ocean and see the landscape from a different perspective! The boat went faster than we expected which was fun, and the tour guide was really informative and friendly.

  i booked this pretty last minute as i’d wondered past it on the beach and had spare time to kill and i’m so glad i did, the staff were very friendly and it was a beautiful day for a great experience.

  Well organized and guided trip with lots of inforamations in a cool boat Andy has responded to all questions friendly and competent. Great coastline and relaxed tour.

  Setting aside the cool and choppy conditions I experienced, this was a very enjoyable and interesting tour. My wife took one long look and bailed, which was a pity, as once the boat got planing it wasn't particularly uncomfortable. If you lucked in a fine calm day it would be magnificent. This activity is well run and worth doing even if the ocean is not cooperating.

  Great experience! Exploring the surrounding shoreline was sensational from the water. The guides were very informative and truly added to the experience with their local knowledge. The water craft was a brilliant boat to explore in, very safety conscious professional operators who just made it an experience to remember. Loved it! Definitely a ‘must do’!

  On this trip tou can really appreciate the volcanic coastline which is presented so beautifully as a result of the conservation zone and very responsible tourism. The Hahei Explorer team are clearly part of this first rate experience with vasts amount of knowledge and professionalism - guide/driver Chris was great.   It was fantastic. The views were wonderful. Totally amazed. The tour was heaps better than I thought it was going to be. The guide was very knowledgeable about the area and very entertaining. Totally recommend this tour.

  Would highly recommend this trip, Andy was so friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to get close to Cathedral cove and right into other caves. The coastline is spectacular and this was absolutely the best way to see it
