The Open Water Course is an experience you can’t miss if you’re visiting Koh Tao!
This small tropical island is known as one of the best places in the world to start diving and earn your Open Water certification.
At DPM Diving, you’ll have the chance to learn in your own language with some of the best instructors on the island. We work with small groups to ensure a personalized, fun, and safe experience from start to finish.

The Open Water Course is a 2.5 - day experience during which you will learn everything you need to become a certified diver. Throughout the program, your Instructor will teach and guide you at all times, providing the confidence and safety you need to obtain your Open Water Diver certification. This license allows you to dive anywhere in the world up to 18 meters, with international and lifetime validity. We work with small groups of a maximum of 4 students per Instructor, always accompanied by a Dive Master or assistant. All DPM Diving instructors are trained through our own Professional Department (SSI Instructor Trainer Center), maintaining the highest safety and quality standards to guarantee a safe, fun, and unforgettable experience. Itinerary The Open Water Course includes theoretical classes and a total of 5 dives. Day 1 : Morning theory class, followed by your first water session in the afternoon. Day 2: After completing the classroom sessions, you will enjoy 2 open water dives. Day 3: You will complete the final 2 dives (usually in the morning) and finish around midday with a short exam. 5.00We completed our Open Water and Advanced Diver certifications here; we had never dived before. However, we felt well taken care of right away. Joaco showed and explained everything excellently, and we all felt safe the entire time. The groups here are very small, and one instructor always has about 3 students (which is often not the case at other diving schools). I would definitely recommend it to everyone. The other diving instructors and divemasters are also very nice, and you can approach them at any time. Even when you are not diving, there is always someone available throughout the day to whom you can go.

5.00I didn’t expect this experience to be this amazing… Diving is truly one of the most incredible things you can do, especially in Koh Tao. Choosing DPM was definitely the right decision. They are extremely professional and clearly know exactly what they’re doing. My instructor, Joaco, was very professional, attentive, and always focused on making sure you feel safe while enjoying every moment of the dive. He teaches you everything you need in a clear and reassuring way. Also, Hollie was fantastic! She helped us with everything and made the whole experience even smoother. 10 out of 10, guys!
