Be led down hidden lanes and alleyways, and let years of history unfold before you. Your guide will lead you past Oxford’s famous movie locations, including Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland and the Morse, Lewis & Endeavour TV series. You'll hear stories of the great academics and scientists who've studied here in our beautiful heritage city.

Please contact the Walking Tours office if you have any mobility issues and we will do our best to adapt the tour, as some of the ancient buildings are not wheelchair accessible. Please note, only Assistance Dogs are allowed on tours.
In case of severe and dangerous (Yellow) weather warnings tours may be postponed, but normally tours go ahead whatever the weather. Please come comfortably dressed and prepared for the weather.

We went around the various colleges.I learned the history. Enjoyed the covered market. Also saw Turf pub.

5.00Gabriel my tour guide was interesting and informative. As no one else had booked I had my own tour! Knowledgable about the city. Went at my pace. Allowed time to take photos. Saw the Morse bar in The Randolph Hotel Gabriel took a photo of All Souls for me through the bars of the gate as it wasn’t open until 2pm. Saw The Turf pub where Bill Clinton famously smoked dope but ‘did not inhale.’
I'm happy and will be returning soon.

5.00The party consisted of eight persons and Nigel the tour leader who was well adversed with the general knowledge of Oxford, particularly when it came to specific dates and happenings. Nigel had a very friendly attitude and was prepared to accept questions and give answers to specific questions raised, which made the walk very enjoyable. Due to the information given by Nigel at specific locations the two hour tour became 3 1/2 hours which actually flew by.

5.00A very interesting guided tour of Oxford and its history. Richard, our guide was very knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed visiting an Oxford College and looking at the grounds and inside the dining hall.

5.00Me and my daughters spent very good time with Richard in Oxford. Richard was very kind and supplied many historical and academic information. I’d suggest to experience the tour if you’re willing to take a good time in Oxford.

5.00We had a great walking tour on Tues with Gabriel. This was a corporate booking for several international colleagues that were visiting Oxford for the first time. It was a whistle-stop tour of all the places of interest in the city. The team loved it and it was an opportunity to learn more about Oxford and its beautiful surroundings. Also huge thanks to Lisa for coordinating this and her extremely professional approach to customer service. I will be recommending this to other teams in our company hosting international visitors.

4.00The guide was clearly very knowledgable about all aspects of Oxford University and had graduated from there a while back. We went during the off season so my husband and I were treated to a personalized tour and had very nice conversations with our guide. We learned quite a bit of the history including some amusing stories and wish that we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of what the town had to offer but had to rush off to the next destination. Some buildings were closed at our scheduled time but were going to be open in the afternoon. Perhaps scheduling in the afternoon would have been a little better? I would recommend giving yourself the whole day to explore this historic town.

5.00Excellent tour of Oxford over the centuries and the colleges that make up the University - I learnt so much thanks to our brilliant guide was great at sharing his knowledge and own experiences of student life - he made it very engaging and fun. 2 hours went quickly despite the rain.
