Love Koalas and the penguins. This is a great tour. Joel is a very good guide. Watching the penguins emerge and run across the beach is fun. Seeing them in bushes on the hill is even better

Terrible guide with poor voice projection and information ability. In spite of telling him a few times we couldn’t hear, he continued with low voice projection and stated mic was not good. The itinerary was not very good for the money spent. Thanks goodness we upgraded our tickets to premium, we were at least able to watch several penguins waddle around out of the water. Nobbies was without any fur seals and very crowded on boardwalks. I won’t recommend this tour to anyone, Autopia guide / driver wasn’t good, late for pick up, poor information and insufficient instructions.

I really enjoyed the tour. Our lovely tourguide Fiona did an amazing job. She gave us valuable tips and was very courteous. On every spot we had enough time. The whole tour was very relaxed and we still could experience a lot. My highlight was definitely Nobbies Lookout and of course the penguins.

Overall, we loved the tour. The speaker on board the bus was muffled, though, so we had difficulty hearing and understanding our driver. No matter, we loved the scenery. The koala preserve was fun and we liked going at our own pace. We are bird lovers and found the birds to be even more interesting than the koalas! The Nobbies was beautiful and, at the end of January, we were still able to see a few baby penguins. The Penguin Parade was a little disappointing for a couple of reasons. The PEOPLE were the biggest disappointment. We were advised MANY times not to do any photography, to keep quiet, and to stay seated. What did people do? They took photos with flash, never shut up, and stood up. I mentioned this to my husband and a woman in front of us (taking photos right after they told us not to) was snarky and nasty to me. Is taking a photo that important? At the end of January, the Penguin Parade had about 30 penguins. We still loved it! And we met an 88 year old pensioner from Holland who was just a dear. All in all, the trip was well worth it and we enjoyed it very much.

This was a nice day out. The driver was friendly and the coach was comfortable with air-con. It was the most expensive option of all Phillip Island excursions on offer and it seemed the most professional on paper. In truth there was nothing special on offer and in fact after a few hours into the trip we were asked if we’d like to pay more to upgrade our seating area at the penguin parade. Bring something warm to wear as the cold wind from the ocean can make it very cold in the evening.
