The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius requires a good level of general fitness. The walk is uphill at a 14 degree angle and takes roughly 20 minutes.

5.00Our tour to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius was absolutely unforgettable. We explored the beautiful ruins of Pompeii with a knowledgeable guide, enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch, and were lucky enough to hike up the volcano itself. The views from the summit were incredible—my only wish is that we could have had a bit more time to soak it all in. Overall, an amazing experience that I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

5.00An excellent day. One for the books. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Especially the lemoncello guy 😆. Was truly exhausted but happy from such a full day. The pizza was excellent on our way to Mt. Visuvius.

4.00Anna, our guide was wonderful. Knowlegeable and with a sense of humor. The busdriver great and we felt quite safe him driving the huge bus through the small streets. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit and Pompaij must be much more enjoyable with sunshine. We were not able to go up Mount Vesuvio due to inclement weather. 😞 Our guide tried to compensate and brought us to Sorento, a pretty town, where we had about an hour to walk around. I think a better choice would have been a short drive down the Amalfi Coast. However, under.the circumstances it was an overall nice experience.

5.00Everything was so organised, even though we had some timing problems, because our lunch in the restaurant lasted too long and we were at risk of not going on top of Vesuvius. However, our driver - Marchello (if i remember his name right, sorry) - did his job top-notch! Special thanks to our guide - Sarah! She is charming, adorable and with a great sense of humour! She told us lots of interesting stuff and vital tips for our further exploration of Rome. It was such a pleasure to listen to her and be guided by her through the whole excursion. Marchello and Sarah made my day in Pompei even better than I thought it would be. I would really like to see Sarah as my guide next time! Thank a lot!

4.00Pompey and Vesuvius are a must see. The lunch is fantastic. The ride is long but the guide balanced the time with helpful information and time of quiet. It was worth the time and money.

4.00A great option to see both Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius from Rome in a single long day returning to Rome by dinner time. You may have a more relaxed time at both attractions if you plan an entire day for each with different tours so that you have time explore more after the tour and to take your time climbing up Mount Vesuvius because it is a bit challenging and you may not want to be rushed as it is very steep. I didnt even try to go all the way because I could tell I would need more than the allowed time being a little older and slower walking. My son was very glad we did it and he made it to the top with someone from Ukraine that was on the tour with us. They did use headsets during the Pompeii portion of the tour which made it easy to hear even though there were about 15 or so of us in our group. Angela was an excellent guide and very informative and watchful recovering someone who got lost in Pompeii from our group. A smaller group tour with a longer duration separating these two parts (Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii) would be nice if you have the time. Otherwise, this is a wonderful tour.
