The day trip to Bhaktapur and Nagarkot from Kathmandu takes you to the ancient city of Bhaktapur and the most popular Himalayan viewpoint closer to Kathmandu City 'Nagarkot hill station'. This tour is designed for travelers who have a limited time in Nepal but still want to explore the natural, cultural and traditional monuments of the cities including viewing most spectacular Himalayan panorama including Mt. 5.00Shankar was an amazing guide for both the Bhaktapur tour and taking us to the arati evening prayer. He showed extensive knowledge of the religious philosophy and was able to answer all our questions. The Bhaktapur tour took three hours itself, plus one hour of car both ways (was this long due to traffic, so mind that) The tour with Shankar is best for those interested in religion, history, and how they intertwine.

5.00I absolutely loved this tour, especially the pottery square in Bhaktapur. I was lucky enough to have Bidhya as a guide. Both Bidhya and the driver were great and made me feel very welcome. Highly recommended day trip whilst in Kathmandu.

5.00I had a nice day in Bhaktapur with my guide Shankar Bhattarai, he explained me in detail and interesting about the history of the city. At the individual sights he pointed me to details, showed me great places to take beautiful pictures. We had plenty of time to let it all take effect and enjoy. Also the recommendation to try really Nepalese Mo Mo was very good. Thanks for the nice day, and also thanks to Sujan, the driver who got us safely through traffic in Nepal.

5.00Really enjoyed the tour to Bhaktapur and Nagarkot. Our guide Bidhya was really friendly and knowledgeable. Views of the Himalayas from Nagarkot were fantastic. Bhaktapur was really interesting and Bidhya gave us a very informative tour both on the history and the religious significance.

5.00Packed so much in in the time we had. Visited main sites of Bhakdapur including Durbar square and pottery square. Also visited a beaten rice factory,paper factory and tried King Curd. Well looked after by the lovely and knowledgeable Shreena. Highly recommend. Cost more than doing it myself but everything was organised and I had use of a jeep for the full day.

5.00Such a wonderful day trip from Kathmandu! It’s about 1.5 hrs drive to the Nagarkot viewing area, which has an incredible panoramic view of the Himalayas, then back down the hill to Bhaktapur’s beautiful and well-preserved historic area. If you’re lucky enough to have Mr. Shankar as your guide, you’ll learn SO much about Nepalese history, culture, religion, art history— the man is an encyclopedia, and he clearly enjoys teaching. I spent a lot of time in university studying South Asia, and today’s tour was an amazing continuing education.
