Malik Ghat Flower Market
Malik Ghat Flower Market is the largest flower markets in Asia and located near the famous Howrah Bridge on the Hooghly River at the Mallik Ghat. The Flower Market was built in the year 1855. Starting as early as 03:30 am in the morning. Here you will see a picture of vigour, life, vibrancy.
Howrah Bridge
Howrah Bridge commissioned in 1943 over the Hooghly River. The bridge was originally named the New Howrah Bridge, because it replaced a pontoon bridge at the same location linking the two cities of Howrah and Kolkata (Calcutta). On 14 June 1965 it was renamed Rabindra Setu after the great Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore, who was the first Indian and Asian Nobel laureate. The bridge is one of four on the Hooghly River and is a famous symbol of Kolkata and West Bengal. It is the busiest cantilever bridge in the world. The third-longest cantilever bridge at the time of its construction, the Howrah Bridge is currently the sixth-longest bridge of its type in the world. The bridge does not have nuts and bolts, but was formed by riveting the whole structure. It consumed 26,500 tons of steel, out of which 23,000 tons of high-tensile alloy steel, known as Tiscrom, were supplied by Tata Steel. It is still popularly known as the Howrah Bridge.

5.00Unique and Awesome Tour with Mr Mukerjee. What an amazing Soul , engaged, on time , full knowledge on the whole Calcutta story and very helpful .From the beginning till we finished all questions were answered, very friendly attitude. Felt like family! Effective , reliable and efficient communication at all times. Tour was fantastic . My highlight… wanted a synagogue visit which was not on the schedule. Mr Mukerjee made it possible not only a visit outside but inside the synagogue. Thanks for that . The driver was great as well

5.00Our guide Tirthankar was truly exceptional. He understood what our background was and correspondingly what we might be interested in and to what details. Throughout the day he kept getting feedback from us and kept continuously adjusting the schedule. He was very mindful of the creature comforts we were used to and made sure we felt absolutely at home, even when venturing out to places off the beaten track. He is extremely knowledgeable not only about the historic perspectives but also about local culture in how to get things done. Once we got stuck in traffic due to some demonstrations and he worked with the local authorities to open up a narrow window of opportunity for our vehicle to pass through. It was quite a remarkable feat, even to someone like me who has spent much of his formative years in and around the city. We are eager to tour with him other places in the region when we visit here the next time!

5.00This is not my first review for the private tour of Kolkata, I enjoyed the last one so much I decided to do another, let me say that it did not disappoint. Like always the tour felt organic, my wants and needs accommodated into the visit, even my requests for things not planned ahead of time that Mr Mukherjee took care to accommodate. I highly recommend a second day of touring as it allows for a fuller picture of the city, discovering some interesting neighborhoods, temples and locations. I wish to make a special mention concerning the synagogue, that was a real hidden gem! It was a fantastic experience in total safety and comfort, it only makes me wish I had stayed another full day in Kolkata! I hope to come back very soon, hopefully visit Bishnupur as well! Thank you again for such a wonderful time in Kolkata!

5.00My friends had a wonderful occasion to visit the city before I arrived, they loved it so much I decided to reorganize a visit for myself, I was not disappointed. Mr Mukherjee was as professional as he was kind, he immediately helped me organize the visit despite my difficult timing. He has an incredible knowledge of the city and made sure I appreciated it not just in sights, but also in the sounds of the city, the taste of the cuisine, and the culture of the city. This tour is a varied as it is informative, he did not hesitate to accommodate visits I wanted to do as the day progressed. For those a little worried, Mr Mukherjee took great care in showing me around town, I always felt safe and mesmerized despite being fresh of a plane. I cannot recommend this tour enough, it left me wanting more and eager to continue visiting Kolkata. Expect a professional guide, a skilled chauffeur and a lot of interesting sights! Thank you for an incredible day of visit!

5.00We had a super day out with our knowledgeable guide, Krish, and our careful driver who negotiated the crowded streets of Kolkata with aplomb. It's difficult to pick out a highlight from so many of the places we visited, but we loved visiting Warren Hastings' former residence, Mother Teresa's home, the synagogue and the colourful flower market, bustling with energy. Mr Mukherjee, the driving force behind this and other trips, was kindness personified, and his courtesy was much appreciated by us all. Thank you. I would highly recommend this trip, and don't be tempted just to opt for a driver. A guide is really essential to making the most of this experience.

5.00We had an excellent day sightseeing in Kolkata. We had 2 guides and a driver who whisked us around the city with ease. They were all very professional and did their very best to accommodate our request for an additional stop and adapting the day to suit us. Kolkata is a great city and a full days tour is very much recommended. We can’t praise our guides highly enough- they were terrific.

5.00I had an absolutely incredible experience exploring Kolkata with Mr. Mukherjee, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From the very beginning, the care and attention he put into personalizing my trip were exceptional. I had originally booked a group tour for the following day, but since that itinerary was less flexible, he completely customized a private day for me so that nothing would overlap. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the experience feel truly tailored. I had just flown in from the US and was dealing with a bit of a cold, and he was unbelievably kind throughout the day, always checking in on how I was feeling, offering tissues, and making sure I was comfortable as we continued exploring. I also asked to add a few local shopping stops because I wanted to pick up good-quality spices and tea, and he took me to the exact places his own family shops, not tourist traps or commercial spots. The tour itself was the perfect balance of discovering local life in Kolkata and seeing the major landmarks you do not want to miss. As a solo female traveler who was initially nervous about navigating India alone, I felt completely safe, comfortable, and well cared for the entire day. Mr. Mukherjee is one of the best guides I have ever had, both professional and warm, and a wonderful travel partner for the day. Whether you are booking through him as a travel agent or simply traveling on your own holiday, you will be in excellent hands. I cannot recommend this experience more highly.

Visit of the working class neighborhoods safely, everything was planned, the restaurant tickets to museums, you will never queue and here it counts because the queues are at the scale of this huge country.you remain in control of your visit,the planning is very flexible and it is you who decide the whole course of the day. I highly recommend this guide to visit Calcutta with its 15 million inhabitants.
