  I don't know what the best part of the trip was...hard choice between the scenery, the fish and the guide! Guide was AWESOME! Highly recommend to anyone. 10/10

  We had a great day fishing with Captain Carlos. He kept us on fish throughout the trip and even took photos of our catch. My friend was a first time angler and Captain Carlos was patient with instructions and helped her every step of the way. She ended up with the catch of the day. Highly recommend and we will definitely fish with Fishing Panama again.

  We’d heard great things about fishing with Rene, and they were all true: our morning combined everything about the wildlife and the beauty of Panama, along with a great day of fishing. From Peacock Bass to an Orange Oscar to a 9.5-lb. snook, we fished what seemed like untouched wilderness to the Panama Canal, passing monkeys, iguanas, an alligator, and a capybara. And Rene was the perfect guide, narrator, and host. We can see why he got so many five-star reviews, and now he has another. This is a trip you definitely want to book.

  This experience was terrific! We paid a little extra to be picked up at our Casco Viejo hotel. It was a comfortable ride of about 45 minutes to Gamboa where we met Rene, our captain and guide for our two person fishing trip. He has a nice and quick fishing boat that has available cover. He knew exactly where to go to in Gatun Lake to have success with fishing. We immediately caught quite a few bass and an occasional Oscar. Catch and release, of course. Rene was very patient and a great guide! On the way back, he also took us to an area where we were able to see some monkeys. This was a totally enjoyable trip that I would do again. Rene was kind enough to send us high quality photos and a video of our trip. I highly recommend Rene and this trip!

  Captain Rene was absolutely an amazing captain. We left early and did a 5.5 hr trip and caught several fish and seen monkeys, birds, and iguanas. Speaks great English and easy to understand. Being in the canal an right next to the ships was a pretty cool experience!

  We had a wonderful day with Rene. As an experienced fisherman, the quality of his rods, reels, and plugs exceeded my expectations. I brought fly tackle and found a 7 weight rod with a tropical 15’ intermediate tip to be ideal. A selection of clousers and other mangrove/peacock patterns will have you covered. We chose to have a late lunch in Panama City after our day at Rene’s suggestion. The food was fantastic. I would highly recommend the Chinese Seafood Restaurant if this option is presented to you.

  What a great experience! Our captain knew where all the fish were and was an excellent teacher. He is very skilled and knowledgeable and made it a great trip! We also enjoyed being able to go in the Panama Canal alongside huge ships and seeing wildlife, including monkeys.

  Captain was amazing. He got us on the fish quick. We caught about 20 plus bass and a few snookers. At one point we had three bass in the boat. It was amazing. We got drenched in a torrent down pour, but once it passed the fishing became amazing. Several times my wife was reeling in one the same time i was. You know when the fishing was amazing when your thumb is tore up dur to holding so many fish. If your looking to book with an amazing captain. Book the owner.

  Very nice experience. My childrens are very happy. Got bass, big snook fish. Saw monkeys. Nice captain!!
