We had a really nice day with our guide, Cameron. The weather was really cloudy so we could not go to the highest mountains. But Cameron had planned options that would work perfectly on such a day. We did manage to get some great views, and got to see both beautiful forrests, hilltops and lakes in the area. As we had time left, we got the opportunity to see a nice little castle ruin in a beautiful lake. Cameron surely has the experience and training to do any kind of mountain tours. Thanks for giving us such a perfect day in the Skotish nature.

Having never climbed a mountain before, Jack our guide was exceptionally patient with us! He was knowledgeable, reassuring, had all the appropriate hiking gear with him and made us feel safe from the moment he picked us up from our B&B. He allowed us to set the pace and constantly checked to make sure we weren’t overly fatigued and were happy to continue. I won’t lie - the climb up was hard but the climb down was harder as we knew it would be! Jack has exceptional people skills and could read when we wanted to be quiet and concentrate on where we were placing our feet as well as asking us questions and providing excellent commentary on the area and the geography when we were more relaxed - his knowledge of the local area was excellent. Towards the end, us as unseasoned climbers were getting very fatigued and were making mistakes. My partner slipped and fell (luckily landed on her backpack) and I twisted my hip by slipping in the snow - all totally our fault but par for the course after 7 hours + of hiking! Jack was very patient, asked if we were ok to continue and constantly checked we were feeling ok. We made it down in one piece and Jack kindly drove us back to where we were staying. It was an excellent experience, not for the faint hearted but definitely worth the effort and it was made all the more special by Jack’s tuition and guidance. We would definitely do it again (once we’ve recovered the use of our legs!) and would recommend Jack as a guide to anyone who likes the mountains and wants a great day out! Thank you Jack and well done!

Everything about this day hike was exactly as I had hoped it would be. I was met, on time, at my hotel. The guide had contacted me several days before my hike to go over expectations, hopes and goals. My wishes were respected. On the day of the hike these expectations were discussed again. I felt my guide, Amy, was willing to offer a wide range of mountain hiking and rock climbing experiences. I was seeking a walk appropriate for a 65+ year old in reasonably good but not elite physical condition. The plan we devised was perfect for me. The Cairngorm National Park is a beautiful place that I recommend heartily. Amy was a great companion for the day. It was clear she had been well trained to handle anything likely to occur on a hike, although our trip was blissfully uneventful. Amy has a real passion for the Cairngorms, particularly the geology and natural history of the area, something that certainly enhanced my enjoyment of the hike. The conversation was easy and relaxed throughout the hike. I would strongly recommend this guide to anyone who appreciates alpine beauty and wants to experience and learn more about the Scottish Highlands in general, and the Cairngorms in particular.
