In the morning tourist guide and driver pick you up from your hotel at about 8.00 – 8.30 Bus drive 170 km to the Northeast of Viet Nam ( 3,5 hrs ). Along the way you can enjoy the stunning scenery of the Red River delta with peaceful villages, farmers working in their green fields, herding their water buffalos, flocking their ducks, trading garden herbs by the side of the road. We also make a stop on the half way to stretch our legs, enjoy a coffee or tea… before we continue our trip to Ha Long Bay. Arrive in Ha Long bay at about 12.00. The tour guide takes you to the boat for cruising Ha Long Bay (4-5 hours). Seafood lunch is served while the boat cruises the bay to enjoy the beautiful limestone seascapeon the boat. After lunch, you have a chance to visit one of the most beautiful cave in Ha Long bay- Thien Cung cave or the Palace of Heaven Grotto (where in 1288 one of Vietnam’s most famous Generals Tran Hung Dao amassed hundreds of stakes deep inside the cave prior to a battle with an invading Mongol army). We walking up to the middle of the island, then go inside of the cave to exploring. There are a lot of stalagmites and stalactites look like some animals.

5.00My husband and I reserved a private tour through Viator for 12/29/25. We had travel issues and needed to change our tour date last minute which the company kindly rescheduled right before NYE, but for the 8am boat tour at no additional cost. To do this on the 29th and get us on a tour on the 30th, was no easy feat. This alone deserves the 5 star rating. We had the boat to ourselves. Unfortunately, it was overcast, but common around this time of year. It was still beautiful despite no sun or blue skies. The bay was not as congested with boats/tourists. It was nice to experience it with no crowds. I highly recommend going earlier in the day. Our tour guide, Angela, was very knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable. She told us the history of the bay and caves. She was patient and took so many pictures for us. The captain/operating company were very accommodating. The boat was clean and the food was amazing. They made us so much food, more than enough to feed 4-6. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish it. We felt disrespectful, but we simply could not eat it another bite and we explained that to them. They understood and kindly told the chef that we meant no disrespect. However, I recommend to check the details of the tour before booking. We were unaware of the options for a kayak v. the bamboo boat to the lagoon. We took the latter due to our clothing and shoes. We would've prepared better had we known the details of the excursions. For our tour, it was a 2 hour drive from our hotel in Hanoi, port drop off, a 45 minute boat trip to the 1st stop which was the Heavenly Palace cave, then back on the boat for a 15 minute ride to the next stop- the bamboo boat through the 2 lagoons which was about 30 minutes, back on the boat to head back to the port for 40 minutes. Along the way, we saw the kissing chickens and incense burner formations.
A must do!

5.00We had the absolute best time with David on this tour! An all around amazing experience that our family will talk about for years to come. David was great with our 4 toddlers and made it an easy day. I would recommend this trip as a must for a day trip from Hanoi!!

5.00Our family had a lovely time on this private tour to Ha Long Bay today. The service was immaculate, with comfortable transportation to and from our hotel, an outstanding private cruise (with great food) and nice spots to visit. We went through different nooks and crannies within the Bay and also visited several limestone caves, alongside a further private bamboo boat ride into the various bays. It was an all-round lovely experience! Our sincere thanks to our guide, Lee, who was charismatic, caring and knowledgeable (and an excellent command of English!). We would highly recommend this tour to fellow families wanting a unique and private experience of the beauties of Ha Long Bay.

4.00We paid extra and chose private "luxury limousine" transfer to take advantage of the later pick up time (9am) and to travel in a bit if luxury for the 2 hours 30 minute journey from Ha Noi. Unfortunately the 12 seater minibus we were picked up in did not meet our expectations, not looking anything like the luxury limousine pictured in the advert for our trip...so I think the ad was misleading, as one of the reasons for choosing this particular trip was the luxury 'limo' travel option. However, the guide Lee was very knowledgeable and helpful, and so was the driver. Our son bought a bracelet from the Pearl 'factory' which needed to be manufactured. To save us time we continued on our journey and the driver popped back to pick up the finished bracelet.
We had interesting experiences in here. We are so surprised with the landscape in the Thien Cung cave.

The boat was immaculate, and the crew provided a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout our time on the bay. The scenery, of course, is breathtaking—those iconic limestone karsts rising from the emerald water are a sight to behold. We indulged in a delicious multi-course seafood lunch (with great vegetarian options!), which was a highlight in itself. We enjoyed activities like kayaking through caves and relaxing on the sundeck. The guide on board was knowledgeable and shared fascinating stories about the area. The personalized attention and smaller group size made the experience feel exclusive and tailored to our preferences.

5.00Spending time in the cave was incredible The tour exceeded our expectations, with our tour guide Angela being the perfect host to create a wonderful experience. The immense size of the cave was amazing and very beautiful. The food on the boat was really good and a lot of variety to sample local food. Our tour was in the morning as we had to get back to our cruise ship shortly after noon. Angela insured our tour was well paced to allow for us to relax and enjoy the day. This tour was well worth the price and an expense well spent. Angela proved all the tickets and had arranged for the boat to be ready for us as soon as we got off the cruise ship.

5.00We were staying in Hanoi for only two days and really wanted to visit Ha Long Bay. This private tour was perfect for our trip. The hotel pick up and drop off was very convenient because we were staying outside of old quarter. Our guide Johnny was very knowledgeable and explained many history not only about Ha Long bay but also about Hanoi and Vietnam. We took the morning cruise and it was definitely worth going on the cruise in the morning because most of the tourist groups come in the afternoon and you might have to wait a very long time to go through different caves. We had a really great time enjoying the cruise and exploring the caves to ourselves and it was definitely worth the price. Highly recommend!
