YehLiu Geopark

Yehliu is a cape on Taiwan’s northern coast best known for Yehliu Geopark, where sea erosion has shaped honeycomb and mushroom rocks such as the iconic Queen’s Head and Dragon’s Head. The area is mostly flat but offers little shade, so sun protection is advised during summer.

Shifen Waterfall

Shifen Waterfall is Taiwan’s most famous cascade, fed by the Keelung River, and measures about 20 meters (66 feet) high and 40 meters (131 feet) wide. Reaching the viewing platform takes about a 30-minute walk, partly shaded and crossing a suspension bridge.

I had a fantastic 8 hour tour with Paul and highly recommend his tours which are a great value for what he provides. He is a 10 of 10.. and more. The communication before the tour was clear and efficient and his arrival was prompt - in fact, he arrived early to be sure he was on time. His SUV is comfortable and spotlessly clean and he provided water. Paul went above and beyond in asking what parts of the tour were most important to me allowing me to provide input. He also is very safety conscious letting me know if the sidewalk or path was slick due to rain. He knows the best place for steamed dumplings and another for tea service. He took many great photos of me which he sent me. If you would like someone who has enthusiasm for his job and is knowledgeable of Taipei, you will be happy you chose his tour!

We had an amazing time with our guide Vincent Lee. He was very knowledgeable about all the sites we visited, super energetic which created a really fun atmosphere, and took really cool photos of us in unusual places. He also provided really good food recommendations and took us to cool places outside of the official itinerary. On a more general note, I think this trip is really worth it, particularly that otherwise it would be really difficult to see all these places, especially in one day.

I had a wonderful experience on the private tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi! Everything was very well organized, and our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible with our pace. I especially loved the unique rock formations at Yehliu Geopark—they truly feel like something from another planet. Jiufen was absolutely charming, with its narrow streets, tea houses, and beautiful views over the mountains and sea. Pingxi was such a special stop—releasing a sky lantern was a memorable and meaningful experience I’ll never forget. The private tour made everything easy and comfortable, without any stress, and we could really enjoy each place at our own pace. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Taiwan—it’s a perfect mix of nature, culture, and unforgettable moments!

Very well organized tour, everything went smoothly despite the weather which wasn’t great! James was extraordinary, very punctual, attentive and knowledgeable! He was also very malleable and trying to accommodate every special request Ihad throughout the day, on top of perfectly guiding me through our tour program! Very pleasant experience, would definitely recommend!

We are a couple and we did this private tour as a day trip from Taipei. We can highly recommend if you want to spend a day with some great highlights near the city. The geoparc is spectacular to see as its close to the beach, Jiufen is a really nice town and with great shops and local specialities to try and has some amazing viewpoints. Shifen is also a highlight with the drawing of the latern and seeing the train passing by. Cody, our guide, was very attentive and shared with us a lot great tips and interesting facts about Taiwan. The lunch was absolutely great and we appreciated it that we could try local dishes! Thank you very much for this great day tour :)

This was a great way to explore some of the highlights outside of Taipei. It was beautiful. Vincent was a fantastic tour guide; he knew the best spots for photos, took time to answer all of our questions, and made many recommendations for the rest of our time in Taipei, and was very kind. I wish we could have had Vincent for all of our tours!

We had such a great time on this private tour. The vehicle was big and spacious. Allen, our guide, showed us to the places where we could get the best photos and gave us a good background and history of the area. Allen was funny and knowledgeable. He made sure we beat the crowds and we got to see the best. Highly recommended ! I would recommend this tour over the mass joiner tours. The extra price is worth the VIP treatment and access. The joiner tours all ended early and did not get to see jiufen at night.
