Join us on a private trip to the region often called Zagreb’s vineyard and try some of the best Croatian wine, enjoy in the breathtaking landscapes and walk through the picturesque city of Samobor!
Plešivica is famous Croatian wine region located 30 km southwest of Zagreb with centuries-old tradition in wine-growing and making a wide selection of high-quality and renowned wines with the emphasis on white and sparkling wines. You will have the opportunity to visit two local wineries, meet local wine-makers and try a selection of wines with distinctive aroma and taste.
Besides enjoying in wine tasting and beautiful landscape of Zumberak Samobor Hills Nature Park you will have the option to have a short hike up to the ruins of 13th century Samobor Castle and/or to explore the city of Samobor famous for its interesting culinary tradition and well-preserved 19th century charm.

Tour will start with pick up at your accommodation in Zagreb and an hour drive towards Plesivica wine region.
Before we reach Plesivica we will stop in the small town of Samobor famous for its interesting culinary tradition and well-preserved 19th century charm. You will see the main town square, St. Anastasia church and small colorful bridges which evoke a relaxing atmosphere. There is also an option for a short hike to the ruins of 13th century Samobor Castle. Castle, once owned by the most famous Croatian noble families, today is just a beautiful picturesque ruin with amazing views.

5.00My sister and I had such a great time on this tour! Both local wineries had delicious wines, beautiful views, and great food. As a bonus, both wineries were also organic. Our tour guide was very informative and friendly and helped make our tour even better. Would fully recommend!

5.00We visited two wineries that had excellent wines. The owner of Jagunic spent as much time as he could imtroducing each of the 6 wines. Many were sparkling wines and all of the wines were delicious . A charcuterie board was presented with locally made meats and cheese with bread made by the two owners grandmother! The next tasting also has delicious charcuterie . Our guide was a careful driver and also showed us sights in Samabor. I would repeat this trip over and over if I could!

5.00My friend and I had a wonderful day wine tasting and visiting the sites at Samobor. We visited two beautiful wineries, one a small family owned winery whose winemaker educated us all about Croatian wines and happily answered our many questions. Tomislav is a safe driver and tour guide who planned a wonderful trip for us! I would definitely recommend Mapping Croatia.

5.00Such an amazing experience! Our tour guide’s knowledge of the area was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for him. The winery served us great food and great wine that we ended up purchasing to be shipped to us.

5.00Our day with Tom was fun, entertaining and we learned many things about Croatian winemaking and history and even had a stop for coffee and the ‘National pastry’ I highly recommend !

5.00Really great trip. Tom was professional courteous punctual. Tom had good relationship with both vineyards. We were really happy. Sorry we got abit tipsy. It was a very generous wine tasting. definitely great trip.

5.00Fabulous tour with Tom today. The driving distance is relatively short (30 - 40 mins) which gives ample time for exploring the beautiful hills outside of Zagreb. The wine tastings were amazing, generous, and accompanied by superb cold cuts, cheese and breads. The winery owners willingly sat and chatted and shared the wine and food, telling us stories of their family businesses. Tom was an excellent, knowledgable and friendly guide. Could not recommend this highly enough.

5.00We had a great day with Tom visiting the town of Samobor and two excellent wineries. Tom met us at our apartment and told us a lot about Zagreb and the area that we would be visiting on the way to Samobor. After a quick stop in Samobor for a delicious piece of Samobor cake and cappuccino we headed to the wineries. The tastings were fun as this wine region specializes in sparkling wines, but also produces non-sparkling. We visited two small family run wineries that produced excellent wines. We were able to spend time at each winery with family members discussing wine, the region and their specific methods. The area is beautiful. Tom made sure that we had a fantastic day. We highly recommend this tour!
